Burgos, officially the Municipality of Burgos ( ilo, Ili ti Burgos; fil, Bayan ng Burgos), is a 5th class municipality in the province of La Union, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 9,006 people. Burgos is from provincial capital San Fernando and from Manila. Geography Barangays Burgos is politically subdivided into 12 barangays. These barangays are headed by elected officials: Barangay Captain, Barangay Council, whose members are called Barangay Councilors. All are elected every three years. President Elpidio Quirino Highway (often shortened as Quirino Highway), formerly known and still referred to as Naguilian Road and Baguio–Bauang Road, is a Philippine major highway in northern Luzon that runs from the city of Baguio in the province of Benguet to the municipality of Bauang in the province of La Union. Internal Revenue Allotment
The Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) is a local government unit’s (LGU) share of revenues from the Philippine national government. Provinces, independent cities, component cities, municipalities, and barangays each get a separate allotment. The allotment is largely based upon the type of government they are and a formula based upon their land area and population. Section 284 of the Local Government Code of the Philippines (RA 7160) sets up the formula for the distribution of the allotment.
