Bung Moktar Radin
Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar bin Radin (born 14 September 1958) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Chief Minister I and State Minister of Works of Sabah from 2020 to 2023. He has also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kinabatangan since November 1999 and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Lamag since September 2020. A member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition which is aligned with the ruling Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition. He has also served as the State Chairman of UMNO and BN of Sabah since December 2018. The Malay language has a complex system of styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and several provinces in Indonesia regularly award honorary and life titles. What follows in this article is specific to the Malaysian system. The National Alliance ( ms, Perikatan Nasional; abbrev: PN) is a political coalition composed of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (GERAKAN). This coalition was preceded by the Malaysian Party Alliance Association, also known as the ''Persatuan Perikatan Parti Malaysia (PPPM)''. Perikatan Nasional was formed early in the 2020 Malaysian political crisis with the intention to replace the then-ruling Pakatan Harapan government. 1994 Sabah State Election
The 1994 Sabah state election was held between Friday, 18 February and Saturday, 19 February 1994. Nomination day was 7 February 1994. The election was one of the most controversial election in Sabah's political history. The election was won by the incumbent ruling party (although the opposition at federal level) Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), winning 25 state electorates against 23 won by the federal government's ruling Barisan Nasional coalition. However, due to defections by elected PBS assemblymen by way of establishments of new parties aligned to BN shortly after the election, PBS was forced out of power resulting in BN forming government in Sabah. The outcome of this election and the defections resulted in the term ''katak'' being coined in, the literal meaning of which is "frog", due to the actions of PBS members "jumping" to another political party. Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club ( ms, Kelab Ahli Penyokong Barisan Nasional; abbrev: BNBBC) is composed of the BN backbencher MPs. The term " backbencher" originates from the British Parliament, denoting an MP who is not a member of the Cabinet or is otherwise part of the government as a Deputy Minister or Parliamentary Secretary. The Cabinet of Sabah is a part of the executive arm of the Government of Sabah, Malaysia.
