The Avengers (TV Series)
''The Avengers'' is a British Spy fiction, espionage television series, created in 1961, that ran for 161 episodes until 1969. It initially focused on David Keel (Ian Hendry), aided by John Steed (Patrick Macnee). Hendry left after the first series; Steed then became the main character, partnered with a succession of assistants. His most famous assistants were intelligent, stylish and assertive women: Cathy Gale (Honor Blackman), Emma Peel (Diana Rigg), and Tara King (Linda Thorson). Dresses and suits for the series were made by Pierre Cardin. The series ran from 1961 until 1969, screening as one-hour episodes for its entire run. Bernard Frederic Bemrose Kay (23 February 1928 – 25 December 2014) was an English actor with an extensive theatre, television, and film repertoire. Fred Ferris (13 July 1905 – 25 January 1978) was a British actor, stage producer and playwright. Biography Ferris was born in West Derby, Liverpool. In the earlier years of his career, he was known as a comic actor, featuring in the BBC Home Service's radio comedy ''Club Night'', which starred Dave Morris and ran between 1950 and 1955.
