Bullets and Octane is a hard rock band originally from St. Louis, Missouri and later based in Southern California (as referenced in the song "Cancer California"). They originate from the band Ultrafink (which released one album titled ''Carbotrolly'', currently out of print). The band has been touring in Europe and North America since December 31, 1998, playing as a support band for Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Eagles of Death Metal and Flogging Molly, CKY (band), amongst others, as well as headlining their own tours. Gene Louis
Gene Louis (also known as Gene Bullets) is a vocalist, front-man of hard rock band Bullets and Octane, and former vocalist in Sex N Violence. He also has a solo project, releasing under his own name. History Louis was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and taught to play drums by his jazz drummer father. Louis moved to Orange County, California with long-time friend and bassist Brent Clawson to start Bullets and Octane in 1998. Louis remained the band's drummer until the original lead singer quit and Louis stepped up to the mic, being replaced on drums by local punk rocker, Ty Smith, while James Daniel would later join on guitar. Career Bullets and Octane released their debut album ''The Revelry'' through the Criterion Records imprint in 2004. Social Distortion
Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band currently consists of Mike Ness (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jonny Wickersham (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Brent Harding (bass, backing vocals), David Hidalgo Jr. (drums), and David Kalish (keyboards). Starting as a hardcore punk band in the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Social Distortion went on a temporary hiatus in the mid-1980s, due to Ness's drug addiction and troubles with the law which resulted in extended stints in various rehabilitation centers that lasted for two years. Following their reformation, the band has shifted its style to a country, blues and early rock and roll-influenced style of punk. Stone Sour
Stone Sour is an American rock band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992. The band performed for five years before disbanding in 1997. They reunited in 2000 and since 2015, the group has consisted of Corey Taylor (lead vocals, guitar), Josh Rand (guitar), Christian Martucci (guitar), Johny Chow (bass) and Roy Mayorga (drums). Longtime members Joel Ekman (drums, percussion) and Shawn Economaki (bass guitar) left the band in 2006 and 2011, respectively. Former lead guitarist Jim Root left in 2014. The band has been on an indefinite hiatus since 2020. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Ty Smith (drummer)
Ty Smith (born January 2, 1977, in Alton, Illinois) is an American studio and internationally touring drummer. Early life Born January 2, 1977, he grew up in Bethalto, Illinois. Smith taught himself to play the drums at the age of three and continued to study through high school. He studied many styles and techniques from an early age. At the age of 16, he started playing professionally in the local band Ultrafink and opened for such acts as Bloodhound Gang, Nerf Herder, W.A.S.P. and Goldfinger and also was placed in heavy rotation on the St. Louis radio station The Point. Career Ultrafink opened for The Vandals in St. Louis in 1997 and Smith was approached by Joe Escalante, bass player of The Vandals, to fill in for their drummer Josh Freese while Freese was on tour with Devo.
