Selnica, Međimurje County
Selnica ( hu, Szelence) is a village and municipality in Međimurje County, in northern Croatia. History In year 1334 Selnica was recorded as Parish (Catholic Church), Catholic parish named ''Sancti Marci'' in Census of parishes of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Zagreb, Zagreb Diocese. Charter issued in year 1478 mentions villages'' Zenth Mark'' and ''Zelnycz''. In the 1850s, petroleum, oil was discovered in the Selnica. Brigita Bukovec
Brigita Bukovec (born 21 May 1970) is a retired Slovenian hurdler who won an Olympic silver medal in 1996. During the Olympics she set a personal best time with 12.59 seconds. She stopped competing on top level after the 1999 season. Biography Bukovec was born in Ljubljana on 21 May 1970. Bukovec started her career as an athlete in her home country, specializing in hurdles. She ran the 100 metre below 13 for the first time in 1993. That year, she was also chosen as Slovenian Sportswoman of the Year; an award that she was to win a total of five times (the other years being 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998). Bukovec won the gold medal at the 1993 Mediterranean Games, and another gold medal at the 1994 Goodwill Games. She achieved fourth place in 60m hurdles at the 1994 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris and fourth place in 100m hurdles at the 1994 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki. Bukovec Mountains
The Bukovec Mountains ( sk, Bukovské vrchy; hu, Ungi-határhegység) is a flysch mountain range in north-eastern Slovakia, part of the Eastern Beskids of the Outer Eastern Carpathians. It is located in the Prešov Region near the borders with Poland (Bieszczady Mountains) and Ukraine, and adjacent to the Laborec Highlands. The highest mountain is at 1,221 m AMSL.
