''Bugün'' ( en, Today) was a Turkish daily newspaper. It was established in 2005. Columnists and journalists working for it have included Cengiz Çandar, Ahmet Almaz, Toktamış Ateş and Kamil Maman. ''Bugün'' was founded in January 2003 as ''Dünden Bugüne Tercüman'', an attempt to resurrect '' Tercüman''. It was renamed in 2005. ''Tercüman: Halka ve Olaylara'' was a Turkish daily newspaper. It was founded in 1955 by Kemal Ilıcak (1932–1993), and associated with the center-right. The newspaper closed after Ilıcak's death, and the name was acquired by the Çukurova Media Group in 1997. Kamil Maman
Kamil Maman is a Turkish journalist working in exile from Canada, originally a writer for the daily newspaper Bugün until it was seized by the Turkish government in 2015. In connection with the seizure, Maman was arrested and subject to torture by Turkish police. In Turkish media, all of which is more or less controlled by the state, he has been termed a "fugitive" as well as a "terrorist" and it has been claimed he is a member of the Gülen movement. Ahmet Almaz
Ahmet Almaz is a Turkish journalist, translator, and non-fiction writer. Almaz was born in Anamur. He attended school in Konya, Ceyhan, Karaman and Anamur. He went to university in 1993, publishing his first work, The Birth of Stars (prepared with Dr. Ahmet Gül), in 1997 through Gonca Publishing. In 2002 Almaz carried out research for the Foreign Affairs department of the newly formed Ak Party. The same year he published The Duties of the Children, or Golden Advices to the Children, through Birey Publishing. Presently Almaz works for the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, where he writes about the history of trade. Toktamış Ateş (4 April 1944 – 19 January 2013) was a Turkish academician, political commentator, columnist and writer. He was professor of political sciences at Istanbul University. Biography Toktamış Ateş was born in Istanbul. After graduating from St. George's Austrian Secondary School and Vefa High School, he was admitted to Istanbul University Faculty of Economics and received his BA degree in 1967. He started his academic career as a research assistant at department of political sciences in Istanbul University Faculty of Economics. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics.
