Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Eight
''Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight'' is a comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics from 2007 to 2011. The series serves as a canonical continuation of the television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'', and follows the events of that show's final televised season. It is produced by Joss Whedon, who wrote or co-wrote three of the series arcs and several one-shot stories. The series was followed by ''Season Nine'' in 2011. The series was originally supposed to consist of about 25 issues, but eventually expanded to a 40-issue run. The series also spawned a handful of spin-off titles, including a ''Tales of the Vampires'' follow-up and one-shots focusing on Willow and Riley. The success of the series prompted IDW Publishing and Joss Whedon to publish a concurrent continuation of the ''Angel'' television series, titled '' Angel: After the Fall'', and a ''Spike'' comic book series, which bridges some aspects of continuity between ''After the Fall'' and ''Season Eight''. ...

Tales Of The Vampires
''Tales of the Vampires'' is a five issue American comic book limited series (later collected in a single trade paperback), published by Dark Horse Comics and set in the Buffyverse. It comprises an anthology of short stories written by Joss Whedon, Jane Espenson, Ben Edlund, and Drew Goddard. Each story tells the tale of one or more Buffyverse vampires, and the otherwise unrelated collection is strung together by a bridging story written by Whedon. The anthology is presented as a series of stories told by an ancient vampire to a group of young Watchers. ''Tales of the Vampires'' is the tale of that storytelling session and functions as a bridge among the other items in the anthology. The stories in this series are generally considered to be an official part of the Buffyverse canon. Dark Horse published a new one-shot special based on the ''Tales of the Vampires'' concept by Becky Cloonan, Vasilis Lolos, Gabriel Bá and Fabio Moon in June 2009. Specifically, this one-shot i ...

She occasionally receives prophetic dreams in the few hours that she sleeps. The opening narration in the Buffy series states "''Into every generation a slayer is born: one girl in all the world, a chosen one. She alone will wield the strength and skill to fight the vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness; to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their number. She is the Slayer.''" While, in the series, they are commonly referred to as "Vampire Slayers", even by Watchers and vampires themselves, the Slayer may operate as a defender against any and all supernatural threats. Scotland is divided into 32 administrative subdivisions or local authorities, known as council areas. Glasgow City is the largest council area in terms of population, with Highland being the largest in terms of area. Xander Harris
Alexander Lavelle Harris is a fictional character created for the action-horror/fantasy television series '' Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' (1997–2003). He was developed by Joss Whedon and portrayed throughout the television series by Nicholas Brendon and in two episodes by his twin brother, Kelly Donovan. He was conceived as an everyman and a male character for series heroine Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to interact with, and to provide comic relief in the series. Xander is one of several friends of Buffy who assist her in saving the world against numerous supernatural events that plague Sunnydale, California, a town built over a doorway to hell. Xander is based in part on Whedon himself, particularly in his high school years; as such, he is often the most geeky as well as witty and verbose of ''Buffy'''s characters. The character's overriding arc through the series has been his struggle towards maturity and earning the respect of others. In the canonical comic book cont ...

Motion Comic
A motion comic (or animated comic) is a form of animation combining elements of print comic books and animation. Individual panels are expanded into a full shot while sound effects, voice acting, and animation are added to the original artwork. Text boxes, speech bubbles and the onomatopoeia are typically removed to feature more of the original artwork being animated. Motion comics are often released as short serials covering a story arc of a long running series or animating a single release of a graphic novel. Single release issues of a story arc are converted into ten- to twenty-minute-long episodes depending on content. History The concept was fully outlined in the mid-1960s by science fiction author Philip K. Dick in his novel ''The Zap Gun'', an expansion of his novella ''Project Plowshare'', which was written in 1964 and first published as a serial in the November 1965 and January 1966 issues of ''Worlds of Tomorrow'' magazine. In Dick's novel, weapons designers of the futur ...

Whedonesque
Whedonesque.com (also referred to as Whedonesque) was a collaborative weblog devoted to the works of Joss Whedon. Submissions of new content ended on August 21, 2017, following the publication of an open letter by Whedon's ex-wife Kai Cole. The site was taken offline in 2021. At its inception in 2002, Whedonesque covered ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' and ''Angel'', but expanded to follow Whedon's professional output, as well as the careers of cast and crew associated with Whedon projects. Since 2004, the site has been recognized in other media outlets by awards and citations of Whedon's writings originally posted to Whedonesque. Beyond simply being an informational site, Whedonesque has been referenced in books and cited in academic papers. It was used by marketers to drum up interest in ''Buffy'' products and by comic book editors to gauge reader reactions. Whedon has occasionally posted his personal political views to the site, such as during the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of ...

Spike (IDW Publishing)
''Spike'' is a comic book series published by IDW Publishing. Written by Brian Lynch, it focuses on the character of Spike, a main character in television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' and its spin-off, ''Angel''. Uniquely, although this is a spin-off from IDW's larger ''Angel: After the Fall'' franchise, it also serves as a prequel to Dark Horse Comics' own ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight'' comic book series. As such, it is "canon" to the overall "Buffyverse" in which stories take place. Although originally intended as an ongoing series, the ''Angel'' rights transfer from IDW to Dark Horse caused the series end after eight issues. Lynch had previously written for Spike in the comic books '' Spike: Asylum'' when ''Buffy'' and ''Angel'' creator Joss Whedon approached him to write the canonical continuation to ''Angel'', ''After the Fall'', in 2007. For ''Spike'', Lynch is reunited with frequent collaborator, penciller Franco Urru. Because of the circumstances behind ...
