''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' is an American supernatural fiction, supernatural drama television series created by writer and director Joss Whedon. It is based on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer (film), 1992 film of the same name, also written by Whedon, although the events of the film are not considered Canon (fiction), canon to the series. Whedon served as executive producer and showrunner under his production tag Mutant Enemy Productions. The series premiered on March 10, 1997, on The WB and concluded on May 20, 2003, on UPN. The ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer Collectible Card Game'' is an out-of-print trading card game based on ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer''. It was released in December 2001 by Score Entertainment. As of January 2004, Score Entertainment no longer holds the rights to this game. Hence, no further production runs or expansions for the game are planned.
