Buddy The Dentist
''Buddy the Dentist'' is a 1934 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Ben Hardaway. The short was released on December 15, 1934, and stars Buddy, the second star of the series. Summary Buddy is preparing fudge for his girlfriend Cookie. When he walks away from his stove for a moment, Bozo the dog burns his tongue attempting to taste the mixture. Buddy returns with a tube to squirt the fudge onto a pan, disregarding the odd behavior of his pet. As he arranges the fudge on a pan, he tosses some into Bozo's mouth while lecturing the dog on how harmful candy can be to a dog's teeth. Buddy orders the dog to sit and tells him to be quiet as he telephones Cookie to give her tidings of the treat he has prepared for her. The two discuss vanilla (which Buddy always uses for fudge). Ben Hardaway
Joseph Benson Hardaway (May 21, 1895 – February 5, 1957) was an American storyboard artist, animator, voice actor, gagman, writer and director for several American animation studios during The Golden Age of Hollywood animation. He was sometimes credited as J. B. Hardaway, Ben Hardaway, B. Hardaway and Bugs Hardaway. He fought in World War I in the 129th Field Artillery Regiment, Battery D. Army service Hardaway was enlisted in World War I on June 4, 1917, and was discharged on April 9, 1919, a total of 26 months. He was led in the 129th Field Artillery Regiment by future president Harry S. Truman, in which he attended his reception planned by Forrest Smith at the Shoreham Hotel in 1949 and his inauguration, following him being re-elected. The last 14 months of his service were served in France. ''Buddy's Circus'' is a 1934 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon, directed by Jack King. The short was released on November 8, 1934, and stars Buddy, the second star of the series. Summary We come to a balloon, in which float Buddy and several animals, including an elephant, a lion, and a bear. Buddy looks through a spy-glass to see a sign that says "Buddy's Circus will arrive at 2:00 P.M." Checking his watch, Buddy sees that the time is nigh: he releases from his arms a gaggle of stakes, which land perfectly in a circle completed by the sign, and which are hammered into the earth by an octopus, which then is flattened by the landing balloon, which seamlessly morphs into a circus tent. Leonard Michael Maltin (born December 18, 1950) is an American film critic and film historian, as well as an author of several mainstream books on cinema, focusing on nostalgic, celebratory narratives. He is perhaps best known for his book of film capsule reviews, ''Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide'', published annually from 1969 to 2014. Early life Maltin was born in New York City, the son of singer Jacqueline ( née Gould; 1923–2012) and Aaron Isaac Maltin (1915–2002), a lawyer and immigration judge. Maltin was raised in a Jewish family in Teaneck, New Jersey. He graduated from Teaneck High School in 1968. ''High Diving Hare'' is a 1948-produced Warner Brothers ''Looney Tunes'' theatrical cartoon short starring Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. Released to theaters on April 30, 1949, the short is an expansion of a gag from ''Stage Door Cartoon'', which was also directed by Friz Freleng, and co-stars Elmer Fudd. ''High Diving Hare'' can be seen in the third act of ''The Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie'', and a segment can be seen in the special ''Bugs Bunny's Wild World of Sports'' (the latter revealing that Sam has become a champion high diver due to his experiences in the short). Friz Freleng
Isadore "Friz" Freleng (August 21, 1905May 26, 1995), credited as I. Freleng early in his career, was an American animator, cartoonist, director, producer, and composer known for his work at Warner Bros. Cartoons on the ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons. In total he created more than 300 cartoons. He introduced and/or developed several of the studio's biggest stars, including Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam (to whom he was said to bear more than a passing resemblance), and Speedy Gonzales. The senior director at Warners' Termite Terrace studio, Freleng directed more cartoons than any other director in the studio (a total of 266), and is also the most honored of the Warner directors, having won five Academy Awards and three Emmy Awards.
