Buckriders
The Buckriders ( nl, Bokkenrijders, french: Les Chevaliers du Bouc) are a part of Belgian and Dutch folklore. They are ghosts or demons, who rode through the sky on the back of flying goats provided to them by a demon. During the 18th century, groups of thieves and other criminals co-opted the belief to frighten the inhabitants of southern Limburg, a province in the southern part of the Netherlands and eastern Belgium. Using the name "Bokkenrijders", these criminal bands launched raids across a region that includes southern Limburg, and parts of Germany and the Netherlands (parts of which were a part of the Southern Netherlands, currently Belgium). Commonly, the "Bokkenrijders" raided peaceful communities and farms. Several confessed "Bokkenrijders" were convicted and sentenced to death. Limburg (Belgium)

Nieuwstadt
Nieuwstadt () () is a city in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is a part of the municipality of Echt-Susteren, and lies about 5 km north of Sittard. Nieuwstadt received city rights in 1277. History It was first mentioned in 1242 as "Novo Opido", and means "new (fortified) city", and received city rights in 1277. Nieuwstadt was a border city of the Duchy of Guelders and received city walls. In 1383, it was severe damaged and a more compact settlement developed. In 1573, the walls were demolished and Nieuwstadt started to stagnate. The Catholic St John the Baptist Church has a nave from the 13th century. Maaseik
Maaseik (; li, Mezeik) is a city and municipality in the Belgian province of Limburg. Both in size (close to 77 km2) and in population (approx. 25,000 inhabitants, of whom some 3,000 non-Belgian), it is the 8th largest municipality in Limburg. The town is the seat of the administrative arrondissement of Maaseik (''kieskanton''). Bocholt, Belgium
Bocholt (; li, Bóggetj) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg. On January 1, 2021, Bocholt had a total population of 13,144. The total area is 59.34 km2 which gives a population density of 208 inhabitants per km2. Besides the historical Bocholt centre, it also includes the parishes of Kaulille, Reppel and Lozen. The Priory of Our Lady of Klaarland of the Trappistins is located in Bocholt. Geistingen is a historic village that is now a submunicipality of Kinrooi, in the Limburg province in the Flemish Community of Belgium.
