Bubenheim is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Geography Location The municipality lies in the Selztal landscape conservation area with the nature conservation areas of Talberg, Flößrich/Gänsklauer and Binger Wiese. The winemaking centre belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Gau-Algesheim, whose seat is in the like-named town. Population development Over the last 150 years, the population figure has lain at about 500 or 550, although in the last ten years, it has grown to about 900. Donnersbergkreis
The Donnersbergkreis is a district (''Kreis'') in the middle of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Neighboring districts are Bad Kreuznach (district), Bad Kreuznach, Alzey-Worms, Bad Dürkheim (district), Bad Dürkheim, Kaiserslautern (district), Kaiserslautern, Kusel (district), Kusel. History The district was created in 1969 by merging the districts Kirchheimbolanden (district), Kirchheimbolanden and Rockenhausen (district), Rockenhausen. Geography The district is located around the highest mountain of the Palatinate, the ''Donnersberg'' with 687 m above sea level. Coat of arms Both of the districts merged into the Donnersbergkreis had a wheel in their coat of arms, which are now also shown in the coat of arms of the new district.
