Brăești is a commune in Buzău County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of seven villages: Brăești, Brătilești, Goidești, Ivănețu, Pinu, Pârscovelu and Ruginoasa. The commune is traversed by the river Bălăneasa. Brăești borders the following communes: Chiliile to the east, Odăile to the south, Bozioru to the south-west, Gura Teghii to the north-west, and Lopătari to the north-east. Gura Teghii is a commune in Buzău County, Muntenia, Romania, located in the north-westernmost part of the county in its mountain region, near the limit of Covasna County, Covasna and Vrancea County, Vrancea counties, in the Carpathians, Curvature Carpathians. Gura Teghii made up of seven mountain villages (Furtunești, Gura Teghii, Nemertea, Păltiniș, Secuiu, Vadu Oii, Varlaam) on the valley of the river Bâsca Roziliei and of its tributaries, Bâsca Mică and Bâsca Mare. Matei Basarab
Matei Basarab (; 1588, Brâncoveni, Olt – 9 April 1654, Bucharest) was a Wallachian Voivode (Prince) between 1632 and 1654. Reign Much of Matei's reign was spent fighting off incursions from Moldavia, which he successfully accomplished in 1637, 1639, and 1653 – see Battle of Finta. He was an enlightened ruler, and is noted for introducing the printing press to Wallachia (1634) and creating the first Wallachian code of laws as well as patronizing art and religion (founder of the first upper school in his Principality).
