Bryan Barnett
Bryan Barnett (born 10 February 1987) is a Canadian sprinter who specializes in the 200 metres. He took up bobsleigh in 2013 and represented Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Career Athletics Barnett won the silver medal in the 200m event at the 2006 World Junior Championships, and also competed at the 2007, 2009, and 2011 World Championships in Athletics, as well as the 2008 Olympic Games without reaching the final. For his silver medal performance at the 2006 World Junior Championships, he was named the 2006 Outstanding Junior Athlete of the Year by Athletics Canada. At the 2007 Pan American Games he won a silver medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay, together with teammates Richard Adu-Bobie, Anson Henry and Jared Connaughton. Bryan currently trains in Edmonton with the Q-School training group under coach Quin Sekulich, coach of a number of high performance athletes. The four-man bobsleigh competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia was held at the Sliding Center Sanki near Krasnaya Polyana, Russia on 22–23 February 2014. On 24 November 2017, the IOC imposed a life ban on bobsledder Alexandr Zubkov. He was stripped of 2 gold medals (two-man and four-man bobsleigh). On November 27 IOC imposed similar sanctions to members of the same team Dmitry Trunenkov and Alexey Negodaylo. On 29 November 2017, IOC also sanctioned Alexander Kasjanov, Ilvir Huzin and Aleksei Pushkarev for doping offences and stripped their team of results. On 18 December 2017, Alexey Voyevoda also received a lifetime ban from the Olympic Games due to doping violations at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Jared Connaughton (born July 20, 1985) is a Canadian former track athlete who specialized in the 100m and 200m. He is now a physical education cross country, and track and field coach at a private school in Fort Worth, Texas (Fort Worth Country Day). Biography Connaughton was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He is the son of Susan and Neal Connaughton. He attended Bluefield High School and graduated in the spring of 2003. Jared received a B.A from the University of Texas-Arlington in 2008. He is married to fellow University of Texas-Arlington athlete, Tamesha (nee Graves). They were wed in December 2011. The couple have two children, Morgan 5 and Louis 3. Richard Adu-Bobie
Richard Adu-Bobie (born 12 January 1985) is a Canadian sprinter. He was an alternate for Canada's 4 × 100 m relay team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He was an alternate for the same team at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire to Ghanaian parents, Adu-Bobie moved to Canada at a young age and received his Canadian citizenship just two days prior to the Olympic trials. Adu-Bobie attended Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School in Ottawa, Canada, where he first launched into his sprinting career. Following the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Adu-Bobie went to the University of Florida where he placed third in the 60-yard dash at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship.
