Bruce Hanna
Bruce Hanna (born April 1960) is a Republican Party (United States), Republican politician from Roseburg, Oregon, Roseburg in the United States, U.S. state of Oregon. He served in the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 7, which spans Lane County, Oregon, Lane and Douglas County, Oregon, Douglas counties. He was the Speaker (politics), co-speaker of the House for the 76th Oregon Legislative Assembly, 2011–2012 session along with Democrat Arnie Roblan. Political career Hanna was first appointed to the House in 2004, to fill a seat vacated by fellow Republican Jeff Kruse. In that session, Hanna served on the House Interim Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources. He is the president of the Roseburg Coca-Cola Bottling Plant. He was chosen as minority leader in August 2007, to serve for the remainder of the Seventy-fourth Oregon Legislative Assembly, 74th Oregon legislature. The speaker of a deliberative assembly, especially a legislative body, is its presiding officer, or the chair. The title was first used in 1377 in England. Usage The title was first recorded in 1377 to describe the role of Thomas de Hungerford in the Parliament of England.Lee Vol 28, pp. 257,258. The speaker's official role is to moderate debate, make rulings on procedure, announce the results of votes, and the like. The speaker decides who may speak and has the powers to discipline members who break the procedures of the chamber or house. The speaker often also represents the body in person, as the voice of the body in ceremonial and some other situations. By convention, speakers are normally addressed in Parliament as 'Mister Speaker', if a man, or 'Madam Speaker', if a woman. Fall Creek is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States, southeast of Eugene/Springfield. Nearby communities include Dexter to the south, Lowell to the southeast, and Jasper to the northwest. The locale was named for Fall Creek, a stream originating in Willamette National Forest and flowing into the Middle Fork Willamette River just below the community. Fall Creek Lake lies upstream on Fall Creek. There is no reservoir on Little Fall Creek. Fall Creek is in the zip code 97438. The Seventy-fourth Oregon Legislative Assembly was the Oregon Legislative Assembly (OLA)'s period from 2007 to 2008. (The Legislative Assembly is the legislative body of the U.S. state of Oregon, composed of the Oregon State Senate and the Oregon House of Representatives.) There was a regular session in 2007, and a shorter special session in 2008. ''The Register-Guard'' is a daily newspaper in the northwestern United States, published in Eugene, Oregon. It was formed in a 1930 merger of two Eugene papers, the ''Eugene Daily Guard'' and the ''Morning Register''. The paper serves the Eugene-Springfield, Oregon, Springfield area, as well as the Oregon Coast, Umpqua River valley, and surrounding areas. As of 2016, it has a circulation of around 43,000 Monday through Friday, around 47,000 on Saturday, and a little under 50,000 on Sunday. The newspaper has been owned by Gannett, The Gannett Company since Gannett's 2019 merger with GateHouse Media. It had been sold to GateHouse in 2018.
