Broderick Thompson
Broderick Lorenzo Thompson (August 14, 1960 – February 4, 2002) was an American football offensive lineman in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Denver Broncos. He also played for the Portland Breakers of the USFL. He played college football at the University of Kansas. Early years Thompson attended Richard Gahr High School where he was a standout in basketball and played but didn't start football, before moving on to Cerritos Junior College where he became a starter as a defensive tackle. He would later transfer to the University of Kansas on a football scholarship. As a junior, he was one of the starting defensive tackles. He missed most of his last year with a stress fracture in his ankle. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. Cerritos College is a public community college in Norwalk, California. It offers degrees and certificates in 87 areas of study in nine divisions. History The college was founded in 1955. It was named after Rancho Los Cerritos, a local ranch in the 19th century. In turn the college was part of the inspiration for the renaming of the neighboring city of Dairy Valley to Cerritos.
