Britânia Sport Club, commonly known as Britânia, were a Brazilian football team from Curitiba, Paraná state. They won the Campeonato Paranaense seven times. History Britânia Sport Club were founded on November 19, 1914, when Leão Foot-Ball Club and Tigre Foot-Ball Club merged. They won the Campeonato Paranaense in 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, and in 1928. The club fused with Palestra Itália Futebol Clube and Clube Atlético Ferroviário in 1971, forming Colorado Esporte Clube. Stadium Britânia played their home games at ''Estádio Paula Soares Neto'' which had a maximum capacity of 4,000 people. The stadium was opened in 1943 with a match against Avaà – which was lost 1–4 – and demolished in 1998 to make way for a shopping center. Campeonato Paranaense, which has been contested since 1915, is the top-flight football league of the state of Paraná, Brazil. Format The format has changed in 2014. 12 teams are together in a single group. They play against each other once, and the 8 best teams after the 11 games will play the knockout phase that teams will play against each other over two legs on a home-and-away basis. The last 4 teams will play the Torneio da Morte, where they will play against each other two times (home-away), the best two teams will stay in the Série Ouro, the first division of the football of the state and the two worst will be relegated to the Série Prata, the second division. Colorado Esporte Clube, commonly known as Colorado, was a Brazilian football club from Curitiba. They won the Campeonato Paranaense once and competed in the Série A five times. History Colorado Esporte Clube was founded on June 29, after the merger of Britânia Sport Club, Palestra Itália Futebol Clube and Clube Atlético Ferroviário. They competed for the first time in the Série A in 1978, when they finished in the 47th place, and were eliminated in the first stage. Colorado competed again in 1979, 1980, 1981 and in 1983 when they finished in the 31st, 19th, 20th and 15th place, making the last one in 1983 their best-ever position in the nationwide championship.
