Brittyn Fleming
Brittyn Fleming (born May 24, 1999) is an American former professional ice hockey winger. She played in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) for the Minnesota Whitecaps and in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) for PWHL Minnesota. Playing career Fleming played youth ice hockey with the Madison Capitals organization, based in Madison, Wisconsin. She played minor ice hockey with the Capitals' under-14 (14U) and 16U teams in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL), and junior ice hockey with the Madison Capitals 19U AAA (also called 19U Midget Major) team. In the 2016–17 season – her final season of juniors – she led the team in scoring, notching 31 points more than the next highest scorer. PWHL Minnesota
Minnesota are a professional ice hockey team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They are one of the six charter franchises of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). History It was revealed on August 29, 2023, that one of the PWHL's first six franchises would be located in Minnesota. Natalie Darwitz, former captain of the United States women's national ice hockey team, United States national team and three-time Olympic medalist, was named the team's general manager. The 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season began in September 2021 and ended with the 2022 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game at Pegula Ice Arena in State College, Pennsylvania on March 20, 2022. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point added to their player statistics. Goal (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). 2023 PWHL Draft
The 2023 PWHL Draft was the first draft in Professional Women's Hockey League history, and took place on September 18, 2023, at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Minnesota Golden Gophers forward Taylor Heise was the first player chosen in the draft, selected by Minnesota. In all, 90 players were selected over 15 rounds of drafting. 2023–24 PHF Season
The 2024 PHF season was to be the ninth ice hockey season of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) – known as the National Women's Hockey League during its first six seasons (2015–2021). League business The PHF elected not to hold a draft in 2023. On June 30, 2023, the Premier Hockey Federation announced a sale of the league to the Mark Walter Group.
