Britt Holmquist
Britt Holmquist is a Sweden, Swedish former racewalking athlete. She was twice a competitor at the IAAF World Race Walking Cup and was the bronze medallist in the first ever women's race in 1975 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, 1975. She was part of a Swedish medal sweep alongside Margareta Simu and Siv Gustavsson. While both Simu and Gustavsson returned to the podium at the 1977 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, 1977 edition, Holmquist fell back to fifth behind British opposition. Nationally, she won twice at the Swedish Athletics Championships, taking the 3000 metres race walk titles in 1974 and 1980. She also competed at the AAA Championships in 1980, taking third place in the 5000 m walk behind Britain's Irene Bateman and Swedish compatriot Gustavsson. Holmquist's highest global seasonal ranking was third, which she achieved in the 10,000 m walk in 1980. The AAA Championships was an annual track and field competition organised by the Amateur Athletic Association of England. 3000 Metres Race Walk
The 3000 metres race walk is a racewalking event. The event is competed as a track race and was part of the athletics programme for women at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics until 1993. Athletes must always keep in contact with the ground and the supporting leg must remain straight until the raised leg passes it. 3000 meters is 1.86 miles. World records IAAF just ratified world records for women's indoor marks. On January 30, 1999, Claudia Stef of Romania set the 3000 m race walk world indoor record in Bucharest in a time of 11:40.33. IAAF World Race Walking Cup
The World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships is a racewalking event organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations. It has been held since 1961, and generally on a biennial basis. Women first entered the 1979 edition. It was formerly known as the Lugano Cup after the city that hosted the first event, then became the IAAF World Race Walking Cup until 2016 and then IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships until 2018. In 2004, a junior division was added, consisting of men and women aged under 20. Since 2008 it has been a constituent meeting of the World Athletics Challenge – Race Walking. From 1975 to 1997 was awarded Lugano Trophy for combined team (20K + 50K). The 1977 IAAF World Race Walking Cup was held in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, on 24–25 September 1977. For the first time, a new competition name ''IAAF Race Walking World Cup'' was introduced replacing the former Lugano Trophy. As in 1975, there was a women's 5 km race held as invitation event.
