Henley-on-Thames
Henley-on-Thames ( ) is a town and civil parish on the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England, northeast of Reading, west of Maidenhead, southeast of Oxford and west of London (by road), near the tripoint of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Oxford University Boat Club
Oxford University Boat Club (OUBC) is the rowing club for male, heavyweight oarsman of the University of Oxford, England, located on the River Thames at Oxford. The club was founded in the early 19th century. The Boat Race The club races against the Cambridge University Boat Club in The Boat Race on the Thames in London each year, with the Oxford boat based at the Westminster School Boat Club. The club also selects a reserve crew, Isis, to race the Cambridge reserve crew, Goldie, earlier on Boat Race day. OUBC was one of five clubs which retained the right until 2012 to appoint representatives to the Council of British Rowing. The Cambridge University Boat Club (CUBC) is the rowing club of the University of Cambridge, England. The club was founded in 1828 and has been located at the Goldie Boathouse on the River Cam, Cambridge since 1882. Nowadays, training primarily takes place on the River Great Ouse at Ely. Nottinghamshire County Rowing Association abbreviated NCRA is a rowing club based at the Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre in Nottingham. History The club was formed in 1981 by a small group of elite rowers from the Trentside clubs in Nottingham UK. Competing in lime green colours, and training on the 2000m rowing course at Holme Pierrepont, NCRA crews enjoyed wins at Henley Royal Regatta and many other elite regattas. At World level, competing as Great Britain, many of the squad's athletes achieved Olympic and World Champion status. Star Club (rowing)
Star Club and Bedford Star are rowing clubs on the River Great Ouse, based at Poynter's Boathouse, Batt's Ford, Commercial Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire. The two clubs usually race as a composite crew. History The club was founded in 1960 by former members of RAF Cardington Rowing Club. The boathouse was originally 100 metres upstream from the current site. Maidenhead Rowing Club is a rowing club, on the River Thames in England at Maidenhead, Berkshire. The clubhouse is on the reach above Bray Lock on the Maidenhead bank of the Thames between Maidenhead Railway Bridge and Maidenhead Bridge. The club regularly races at local and national events with considerable success. The club's colours are Brunswick green and white, and its symbol is a five-pointed star. Neptune Rowing Club
Neptune Rowing Club, founded in 1908, is located on the River Liffey at Islandbridge, Dublin. It is one of the largest clubs in Ireland, steeped in history and is housed in a new boathouse that was opened in March 2010 by the former president of Ireland Mary Robbinson. The club is a member of the Dublin Metropolitan group of clubs which operates a boat house on the reservoir in Blessington - therefore the club's rowers train at both Islandbridge and Blessington. The Dublin Metropolitan Regatta is also hosted here each year. Vesta Rowing Club is a rowing club based on the Tideway of the River Thames in Putney, London, England. It was founded in 1870. Vesta organises two head races every year; the Scullers Head and the Veterans Head. History Foundation Vesta Rowing Club was founded in 1870. It is said that during the club's inaugural meeting, members decided that the club should be named after the first boat to pass under London Bridge. The first boat, a steam tug, to pass under the bridge was ''Vesta''. The club's first home was Salters Boathouse which was a part of Feathers Pub on the Wandle which flows into the Tideway just west of Wandsworth Bridge. St Neots Rowing Club (SNRC) is a British Rowing affiliated club in the town of St Neots, Cambridgeshire, situated on a beautiful 4 km section of the River Great Ouse. It was founded in 1865.
