Brisbane Second Division Rugby League
The Brisbane Second Division Rugby League is the second division of rugby league clubs in Brisbane. History In 1971 the Brisbane Rugby League began a second division competition. This competition was for Under 23 teams in three grades, and was contested by the BRL clubs, University, Teachers and eight "satellite" clubs. By 1977 there were 15 teams competing in Northern and Southern Zones. Since 1981 the Second Division has used Davies Park, West End as its headquarters and finals venue. There are four teams from 1971 that are still competing in the Second Division: Brighton, St Brendans, Sunnybank and Bulimba Valleys (formerly Valley United Stars). The most successful clubs between 1977 and 2004 have been Sunnybank (13 Premierships), Carina (12 premierships), St Brendans (10) and Banyo (8). Aspley Devils
The Aspley Broncos (formerly Aspley Demons and Aspley Devils) are a rugby league club in Brisbane, Australia. Aspley competes in the FOGS Cup and FOGS Colts Challenge competitions. In 2007 they competed in the Queensland Cup as a feeder club to the Brisbane Broncos. History Beginning The Aspley RLFC first became a member of the Brisbane Rugby League Junior Division in 1968 under the name Norths Aspley, and was formed the previous year following a meeting of locals interested in establishing a rugby league club in Aspley. In the club's first season it fielded four teams, with the Under-13s winning the Premiership. Due to the lack of poker machines in Queensland at the time, funds were acquired through Bingo games, chocolate wheels and raffles. The raffles were organised by Harry Kirby, an advisor from Norths who oversaw the setting up of the new club and decided to stay. Beaudesert Kingfishers
The Beaudesert and District Junior Rugby League Football Club, more commonly known as the Beaudesert Kingfishers, was formed in 1962 as the Beaudesert Rugby League Football Club. The club is based at R.S. Willis Park in Beaudesert, Queensland and competes in the Gold Coast Rugby League. The club's emblem of the Kingfisher was adopted in 1973 and it currently fields teams in all junior grades, from under 8's to under 15's. The Wynnum-Manly Seagulls are an Australian rugby league football club based at Kougari Oval, in Brisbane's bayside suburb of Manly West, Queensland, Manly West, which neighbours the suburb of Wynnum, Queensland, Wynnum. The Brisbane Tigers are a rugby league club based at Langlands Park, in the suburb of Coorparoo in Brisbane, Australia. Since 1996, they have competed in the Queensland Cup, having competed in the Brisbane Rugby League from 1934 to 1997, where they won eight premierships.
