Brionne Butler
Brionne Kierra Butler (born January 29, 1999) is an American professional volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for the United States women's national volleyball team and Italian Series A1 professional league Chieri. Early life Butler was born in Louisiana to Brian Butler and Javonne Brooks and grew up in Kendleton, Texas. Her mother played volleyball for University of New Orleans and holds 2nd place in the NCAA record books for career kills. She attended high school at Boling High School, and was the #2 nationally ranked recruit in her graduating class. While in high school, she was on the Junior USA national team. She eventually committed to play for the University of Texas. Career College After redshirting her freshman season in 2017, Butler played as a starting middle blocker the remaining three years of her collegiate career, earning First Team All-American honors her senior year. FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League
The FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The first tournament took place between May and July 2018, with the final taking place in Nanjing, China. United States won the inaugural edition, defeating Turkey in the final. In July 2018, the FIVB announced that China would host the next three editions of the women's Volleyball Nations League Finals, from 2019–2021, but on March 13, 2020 the FIVB decided to postpone the Nations League until after the 2020 Summer Olympics due to the COVID-19 pandemic. American Volleyball Coaches Association
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is an organization of over 6,000 members, incorporated as a private non-profit educational corporation in 1981, as the Collegiate Volleyball Coaches Association. It is currently headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. The original members of the AVCA were intercollegiate coaches who banded together to form this particular coaching body. In 1986, during the San Francisco convention, the membership recognized the growing and developing high school and club communities. The name of the association was then changed to reflect these growing constituencies. The original Collegiate Volleyball Coaches Association was renamed the American Volleyball Coaches Association with the intent of responding to and serving all volleyball coaches.
