Bright Stars FC
Bright Stars FC, also Bright Stars, is a Ugandan football club based in Matugga, Uganda. They play in the top division of Ugandan football, the Ugandan Super League. In September 2017, it was announced that Japan International Keisuke Honda, through his management company called Honda Estilo, bought a controlling interest in the club. History Bright Stars were founded in 1997. They were promoted to the Uganda Super League after winning the FUFA Big League in 2012-13. John Kayanja was the coach who led the Stars to the Super League. For their inaugural top flight season in 2013-14 Bright Stars turned to Livingstone Mbabazi to coach the team. Bright Stars flirted with relegation but finished in 12th place, two spots above the drop. Bright Stars made the 2019 Uganda Cup final, their first ever finals appearance, but were defeated 5–4 on penalties by Proline FC after the game finished at a 1–1 draw. Federation Of Uganda Football Associations
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is the governing body of association football in Uganda. The association was founded in 1924, became affiliated with FIFA in 1960 and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 1961. In 1973, FUFA went ahead and got affiliated with CECAFA. Further more, FUFA is also affiliated to Uganda Olympic Committee. Matugga is an urban centre in the Central Region of Uganda. The town is a rapidly developing residential neighborhood in Gombe division of Nansana municipality in Wakiso District. Wakiso District is a district in the Central Region of Uganda that partly encircles Kampala, Uganda's capital city. The town of Wakiso is the site of the district headquarters. The Ugandan Premier League, also known as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. Proline FC, or short Proline, is a Ugandan football club from Kampala currently playing in the FUFA Big League. History The team was founded in 2006 and was promoted to the top flight Uganda Premier League in 2007. Proline played seven seasons before finishing 15th and being relegated in 2013-14. In 2007, Proline invited Rio Ferdinand to Uganda, where he met with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni. Proline won the FUFA Big League playoff in 2016 to return to the top flight, beating Sporting United 4-1 in the deciding match. 2016 Big League top scorer Edrisa Lubega won a key penalty to secure promotion.
