Brian Christian de Claiborne Howard (13 March 1905 – 15 January 1958) was an English poet and later a writer for the ''New Statesman''. Biography Howard was born to American parents in Hascombe, Surrey, of Protestant descent, a descendant of Benjamin Franklin, and brought up in London; his father, Francis Gassaway Howard, was the son of the writer Frank Gassaway, and was an associate of James Whistler. He was educated at Eton College, where he was one of the ''Eton Arts Society'' group including Robert Byron, Harold Acton, Oliver Messel, Anthony Powell and Henry Yorke. He entered Christ Church, Oxford in 1923, not without difficulty. He was prominent in the group later known as the Oxford Wits. Brian Eugene Howard (born October 19, 1967) is an American former professional basketball player. Brian Richard William Brotherton Howard (born 23 January 1983) is an English footballer who last played as a midfielder for Whitehawk. He made more than 300 appearances in the Football League, and also played for Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia. Internationally, he represented England from under-16 to under-20 level. Club career Southampton and Swindon Town Howard started his career as a trainee with Premier League club Southampton, but he was released in 2003 without making a first-team appearance. Bryan Howard (born October 7, 1976) is an American former sprinter. Howard ran for Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley, California. He was the 1993 CIF California State Meet champion in the 100 meters. He was unable to repeat in 1994 due to a false start. Earlier in the season, he had used his fast start to set the National High School Record of 5.69 in the 50 meters at the Sunkist Invitational. That record still stands. The year before, it was announced he had also broken the record, formerly held by Bill Green since 1979. In 2006 he was inducted into the Australian Country Music Hall Of Fame and the Broadcasters Hall of Fame. 2014 Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center Fire
The 2014 Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center fire was an incident in the United States involving arson at an air traffic control facility in Aurora, Illinois (also known as "Chicago Center"); the incident caused close to 2,000 airline flights to be grounded. One employee at the facility was treated for smoke inhalation, while 15 to 30 employees were evacuated. Brian Howard, an employee of Harris Corporation, was charged in the incident. He made a guilty plea in federal court in May 2015, and in September of that year received a prison term of 12 1/2 years.
