Brian G. Pettyjohn
Brian Pettyjohn (born January 11, 1974) is an American politician and a Republican member of the Delaware Senate, where he has represented the 19th district since 2012. He has been serving as the Senate Minority Whip since 2020. He was a member of the town council for Georgetown, Delaware from 2008 to 2010 and mayor from 2010 to 2012. Biography Pettyjohn graduated from Sussex Central High School and the University of Delaware. Electoral History He first ran for elective office as a member of the Georgetown, Delaware town council in 2008. He was elected to a 2-year term after defeating incumbent Chester Johnson in ward 4. In 2010, Pettyjohn was elected mayor of Georgetown after defeating Matt Walsh by 430-25. In 2012, he began a write-in campaign for Delaware Senate after incumbent Joseph W. Concealed carry, or carrying a concealed weapon (CCW), is the practice of carrying a weapon (such as a handgun) in public in a concealed manner, either on one's person or in close proximity. CCW is often practiced as a means of self-defense. Every state in the United States allows for concealed carry of a handgun either permitless or with a permit, although the difficulty in obtaining a permit varies per jurisdiction.
