Brian Bromley
Brian Bromley (20 March 1946 – 9 March 2012) was an English footballer who played for Bolton Wanderers, Portsmouth, Brighton and Hove Albion, Reading and Darlington in the Football League and Wigan Athletic in the Northern Premier League. Career Born in Burnley, Lancashire, Bromley started his career at Bolton Wanderers. He made his debut in March 1963 against Sheffield United, and made a total of 184 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 26 goals. In November 1968, he joined Portsmouth for a fee of £25,000. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. The Northern Premier League is an English football league that was founded in 1968. It has four divisions: the Premier Division (which stands at level 7 of the English football league system), Division One East, Division One West and Division One Midlands (which stand at level 8). Geographically, the league covers all of Northern England and the northern/central areas of the Midlands, and western parts of East Anglia. Originally a single-division competition, a second division was added in 1987: Division One, and in 2007 a third was added when Division One split into two geographic sections - Division One North and Division One South.
