Brett Queener
Brett Queener (born September 30, 1984 in Penn Yan, New York) is an American lacrosse player. He is currently a member of the Chrome Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League and was selected by the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. He never played for them. Queener is best known as a field lacrosse goaltender, however he plays an offensive position in indoor box lacrosse. Queener is currently the head coach of the Community School of Naples varsity lacrosse team. Early years Queener, a field lacrosse goaltender, began playing high-school varsity lacrosse for the Penn Yan Academy as an 8th grader. At Penn Yan, under his father and head coach Harry Queener, he helped the team capture five consecutive sectional titles. Goaltender (field Lacrosse)
In field lacrosse, the goaltender (goalie, goalkeeper, or the keeper) is the most important and last line of defense between the opposing offense and the goal. The goaltender's primary roles are to defend the opposing team's shots on goal and to direct the defense. Rules Goaltenders are the only ones on the field who can touch the ball with their hands. However, they are not allowed to pick up or control the ball with their hands. Hand touches are legal only when in the crease. Each team has a goaltender on the field at all times. If the goaltender stops a shot by the opposing team, or picks the ball up any other way, the goaltender has 4 seconds in the crease to pass the ball or run with the ball. Community School Of Naples
Community School of Naples (CSN), is an independent, college preparatory day school that was founded in 1982 by a group of parents seeking to establish a quality, independent school close to home. Recruited by word of mouth, the original student body consisted of fewer than 50 students who began K-5 classes in rented accommodation in two churches in Naples. History Sam Hazard was the first Head of School, and by 1984 CSN had grown to more than 90 students in K-8th grade. Twenty-eight acres of land on Pine Ridge Road were donated that year, and $3 million raised in order to construct the first five classroom buildings. 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship
The 2007 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse tournament was held from May 12 through May 28, 2007. This was the 37th annual Division I NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament. Sixteen NCAA Division I college lacrosse, college men's lacrosse teams met after having played their way through a regular season, and for some, a conference tournament. The first round of the single-elimination tournament was played on May 12 and May 13 at the home field of the top-seeded team. The quarterfinals were held on May 19 and May 20 on two separate neutral fields: the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, and Princeton Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey. America East Conference
The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states. The two non-flagship university centers of the State University of New York are in the conference: the University at Albany and Binghamton University. The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays men's lacrosse team represents Johns Hopkins University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college lacrosse. Since 2015, the Blue Jays have represented the Big Ten Conference. Overview The team was founded in 1883 and is the school's most prominent sports team. College lacrosse is played by student-athletes at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. In both countries, men's field lacrosse and women's lacrosse are played at both the varsity and club levels. Albany Great Danes Men's Lacrosse
The Albany Great Danes men's lacrosse team represents the University at Albany in NCAA Division I men's college lacrosse. Albany currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games on Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. The team has reached the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament ten times. The Great Danes are currently coached by Scott Marr. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), founded in 1938, is the governing association of community college, state college and junior college athletics throughout the United States. Herkimer County Community College is a public community college in Herkimer, New York. It is part of the State University of New York system. History The college was approved by the State University of New York in 1965, and the County Board of Supervisors authorized the college in 1966.
