Brett Godfrey
Brett Godfrey (born 8 August 1963) is an Australian businessman and co-founder of Virgin Australia. Godfrey was awarded the Centenary Medal for his service to Tourism and Aviation in 2003 and inducted into the HM Awards' ‘Hall of Fame' in 2015. Career Godfrey was educated in Melbourne, before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte, Touche Ross in 1987. Godfrey worked for the firm's Canadian arm before returning to Australia in 1989 and joining Sherrard/National Jet in Melbourne as its Financial Controller. Godfrey's Virgin career began in the early 1990s when he moved to the UK to join airline Virgin Atlantic as Finance Manager. In 1996, Godfrey became chief financial officer and represented Virgin's interests in the acquisition of a new European low cost airline – Virgin Express. Geoff Dixon (born 1939 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian corporate executive and former CEO and managing director of Qantas. Qantas Geoff Dixon was appointed chief executive officer and managing director of Qantas in March 2001. He was chief executive designate from November 2000, after serving as deputy CEO since November 1998. He was appointed to the board of directors in August 2000. Dixon is a member of the Qantas Safety, Environment and Security Committee and a director of a number of controlled entities of the Qantas Group. Quamby Estate is a country homestead situated on 150 acres in Tasmania's Meander Valley. The estate is a Tasmanian historically important property and dates back to 1828. Quamby was the home of Sir Richard Dry, a premier of Tasmania and the first native-born premier and knight in any Australian colony. The property is now a commercial luxury lodge.
