Bresee Theological College
Bresee College was a junior college in Hutchinson, Kansas, United States. It has closed and merged with Bethany-Peniel College. History Mattie Hoke founded Kansas Holiness Bible College in Hutchinson, Kansas 1905. It was first supported by a local holiness congregation called Apostolic holiness Church, then later by the Kansas and Nebraska District Churches of the Nazarene under the name of Bresee Theological College. In 1917, R. E. Dunham was president of Kansas Holiness College. It came under the leadership of Olivet alumnus Sylvester T. Ludwig, also the general secretary for the Church of the Nazarene, starting in 1927. Church Of The Nazarene
The Church of the Nazarene is an evangelical Christian denomination that emerged in North America from the 19th-century Wesleyan-Holiness movement within Methodism. It is headquartered in Lenexa within Johnson County, Kansas. With its members commonly referred to as Nazarenes, it is the largest denomination in the world aligned with the Wesleyan-Holiness movement and is a member of the World Methodist Council. Mission and vision The global mission of the Church of the Nazarene since its beginnings has been "to respond to the Great Commission of Christ to 'go and make disciples of all nations' (Matthew 28:19)". Hutchinson, Kansas
Hutchinson is the largest city and county seat in Reno County, Kansas, United States, and located on the Arkansas River. It has been home to salt mines since 1887, thus its nickname of "Salt City", but locals call it "Hutch". As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 40,006. Each year, Hutchinson hosts the Kansas State Fair, and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Basketball Tournament. Kansas
Kansas () is a state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka, and its largest city is Wichita. Kansas is a landlocked state bordered by Nebraska to the north; Missouri to the east; Oklahoma to the south; and Colorado to the west. Kansas is named after the Kansas River, which in turn was named after the Kansa Native Americans who lived along its banks. The tribe's name (natively ') is often said to mean "people of the (south) wind" although this was probably not the term's original meaning.
