Brent Edison
Brent Edison (born 1956, Milnor, North Dakota) is an attorney and Democratic-NPL politician from North Dakota. He has unsuccessfully run for both State Auditor in 2004 and for State Tax Commissioner in 2006. Edison's campaign for Tax Commissioner was tarnished when it was publicized that he was fired from a state agency, Workforce Safety and Insurance, after reportedly creating a hostile work environment. Nonetheless, there was never a formal reason for Edison's dismissal, leading many to believe it was politically motivated. Indeed, Edison proved not to be the problem at WSI and unrest worsened dramatically after Edison's firing. Edison is a native of Milnor. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a business degree and attended law school at the University of North Dakota. Milnor is a city in Sargent County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 624 at the 2020 census. History Milnor was founded in 1883 and officially named the same year. The city was named after William Edward Milnor, the first telegrapher at the Milnor Station, and WM Milnor Roberts, a famous civil engineer. It was the first city to be founded in Sargent County. North Dakota Supreme Court
The North Dakota Supreme Court is the highest court of law in the state of North Dakota. The Court rules on questions of law in appeals from the state's district courts. Each of the five justices are elected on a no-party ballot for ten year terms, arranged such that one seat is contested every two years. The Chief Justice is elected from the Justices every five years (or upon vacancy) by vote of the Supreme Court justices and the District Court judges. The Supreme Court is empowered to constitute a Court of Appeals consisting of a three-member panel chosen from active and retired District Court judges, retired Supreme Court justices, and lawyers.
