Brenda Nicholls
Brenda Nicholls (born August 9, 1972 in Quebec City, Quebec) is a Canadian curler. Career 1991–1999 Nicholls made her national curling debut at the 1991 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. She was playing fourth stones for skip Katie Arsenault. The team would finish 6-5 in round robin play. Nicholls would not return to a national championship until 1996, when her team skipped by Stephanie Marchand, earned the right to represent Quebec at the 1996 Scott Tournament of Hearts. The team would only finish round robin with a 4-7 record. 2000–2011 Nine years after making her first Scott appearance, Nicholls would get the chance to represent Quebec at the 2005 Scott Tournament of Hearts, this time skipping her own team. She would fail to improve on her previous record, finish round robin with a 4-7 record. 2012 Quebec Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2012 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts was held from January 25 to 29 at the Club de Curling Kénogami in Jonquière, Quebec. The winning team of Marie-France Larouche, represented Quebec at the 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Red Deer, Alberta, where she finished round robin with a 7-4 record. This was enough to clinch a spot in the playoffs in the 3-4 game. Larouche and team would lose both the 3-4 game and the bronze medal game. Format Changes The 2011-12 season will see a new format for both the men and women's provincial playdowns. The women's tournament will now consist of eight teams playing in a triple knockout format, and a page playoff consisting of three teams. The 2020 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was held from November 3 to 9, 2019 at the Foyer des loisirs et de la culture in Jonquière, Saguenay, Quebec. Quebec won the event, having gone undefeated throughout the tournament. It was only the second championship for ''La Belle Province''. Jean-Sébastien Roy
Jean-Sébastien Roy (born August 14, 1977) is a Canadian curler from Gatineau, Quebec. Career Roy is a two time provincial junior champion, winning in 1995 as the third for Yanick Gaudreault and in 1997 as the third for Philippe Lemay. At the 1995 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Quebec finished with a 5–6 record. At the 1997 Canadian Juniors, the team finished the round robin with a 7–5 record, in a 5-way tie for 3rd place. They ended up losing their tiebreaker match to the Yukon team, skipped by Wyatt Redlin. Roy won his first provincial men's championship in 2004 as the second for Daniel Lafleur. At the 2004 Nokia Brier, Quebec finished with a 3–8 record. He won his second provincial championship in 2012 with Desjardins. 2015 Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts was held from February 14 to 22 at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The winners represented Canada at the 2015 World Women's Curling Championship held from March 14 to 22 at the Tsukisamu Gymnasium in Sapporo, Japan. Changes to competition format For the first time, the event was to be expanded to include entries from Nunavut, which has never participated in the Scotties, and Northern Ontario, which will now have a berth separate from (Southern) Ontario, as well as separate entries from the Yukon and Northwest Territories, which have historically competed as a single entry. Lauren Mann
Lauren Mann (born January 27, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Aylmer, Quebec. She currently skips her own team out of Ottawa, Ontario. Career As a junior curler, Mann was the 2002 Ontario Winter Games championship playing third for Laura Payne, and won a silver medal for Ontario at the 2003 Canada Winter Games. Also in 2003, she won the Ontario Junior Mixed Championship playing third for Chris Gardner. In 2005, she lost in the final of the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships to Erin Morrissey. She was also the runner-up in 2006, losing to Lisa Farnell. In 2014, Mann moved to Quebec and entered the 2015 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts with teammates Amelie Blais, Brittany O'Rourke and Anne-Marie Filteau. She would win the event after posting an 8–2 round robin record, and defeating Roxane Perron in the final.
