The Breiðabliks men's basketball team, commonly known as Breiðablik, is the men's basketball department of the Breiðablik multi-sport club. It is based in Kópavogur, Iceland. Breiðablik also has a men's reserve team that plays in the amateur level Icelandic 4th-tier 3. deild karla, called Breiðablik-b. Danero Axel Thomas (born 8 April 1986) is an American and Icelandic basketball player who currently plays for Breiðablik in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla. A naturalized Icelandic citizen, he debuted with the Icelandic national basketball team in 2018. College Thomas played college basketball for Murray State from 2006 to 2010. On March 19, 2010, he scored a 15-foot fadeaway shot at the buzzer, giving 13th-seeded Murray State a 66-65 victory over fourth-seeded Vanderbilt in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Borce Ilievski
Borce Ilievski (born August 3, 1972) is a Macedonian-Icelandic professional basketball coach. In 2019 he was named the Úrvalsdeild karla Coach of the Year after guiding ÍR to the Úrvalsdeild finals. Coaching career In 2006, Ilievski was hired as an assistant coach to KFÍ's men's team as well as the head coach of the club's youth program. He took over as head coach of the men's team in end of November 2006 after Baldur Ingi Jónasson resigned. Hrafn Kristjánsson
Hrafn Kristjánsson is an Icelandic former basketball coach and player. He was named the Úrvalsdeild Coach of the Year in the 2010–11 season, when he won the Icelandic championship with the KR. As a coach he has also won the Icelandic Basketball Cup two times (2011, 2015) and Icelandic Division I three times (2003, 2005, 2007). As a player he played 139 games in the Úrvalsdeild with KR and KFÍ, winning the national championship in 1990. Playing career Hrafn came up through the junior ranks of KR. Pétur Karl Guðmundsson (born 30 October 1958) is an Icelandic former professional basketball player and coach from Reykjavík. Standing 2.18 m (7'2"), weighing 118 kg (260 lb) and playing the center (basketball), center position, Pétur was the first Icelander and one of the first European players ever to play in National Basketball Association (NBA). Pálmar Sigurðsson (born 7 February 1963) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach, and a former member of the Icelandic national team. In 2001 he was named to the Icelandic basketball team of the 20th century by the Icelandic Basketball Association. Club career Pálmar started his career with Haukar and helped them win the 2. deild karla in 1981. In 1983, he led Haukar to victory in the 1. deild karla and promotion to the top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla. In 1988 he led Haukar to the national championship after making 11 three-point shots in the fifth and deciding game of the finals against Njarðvík. Wright holds the single season scoring record in the Úrvalsdeild karla when he averaged 46.6 points per game during the 1992–1993 season.
