''Breakfast'' (also referred to as ''1 News Breakfast'') is a New Zealand morning news and talk show airing weekday mornings on TVNZ 1, produced by 1 News. Debuting on 11 August 1997, it was the first of its genre in New Zealand. It contains a mixture of breaking news, news, sport, weather and feature items. Originally a two-hour programme, it was expanded to three hours in 2012. It is currently presented by Jenny-May Clarkson, Matty Mclean, Chris Chang and Anna Burns-Francis. History ''Breakfast'' began airing on 11 August 1997 on TV One and was preceded by ''Telstra Business'', an early morning programme devoted to business and finance. Paul Henry Hopes (born 4 August 1960), known professionally as Paul Henry, is a New Zealand radio and television broadcaster who was the host of the late night show ''The Paul Henry Show'' on New Zealand's TV3 which ended December 2014 so that Henry could host a new cross platform three-hour breakfast show Monday to Friday on TV3, RadioLive and on line. ''Paul Henry'' launched on 7 April 2015 and initially had an audience larger than the two shows it replaced on radio and TV. For nine months in 2012, he also co-hosted an Australian television show, ''Breakfast'', which ceased production on 30 November 2012, due to low ratings. Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience that combines the real world and computer-generated content. The content can span multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory. AR can be defined as a system that incorporates three basic features: a combination of real and virtual worlds, real-time interaction, and accurate 3D registration of virtual and real objects. The overlaid sensory information can be constructive (i.e. additive to the natural environment), or destructive (i.e. masking of the natural environment). Pippa Wetzell (born 26 January 1977) is a New Zealand television personality and journalist with TVNZ 1. Early life Wetzell attended Takapuna Grammar School on Auckland's North Shore, where she was Head Girl in 1994. She went on to study at the Auckland University of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Communications degree. Career She was hired by Television New Zealand in 1998 for the overnight assignments desk. She has had several roles at TV ONE's breakfast television programme ''Breakfast'', starting as a junior meet-and-greet assistant before reporting news for the show. The 2017 New Zealand general election took place on Saturday 23 September 2017 to determine the membership of the 52nd New Zealand Parliament. ''Seven Sharp'' is a half-hour-long New Zealand current affairs programme produced by Television New Zealand. The programme was created after the discontinuation of ''Close Up''. Jack Renfrey Tame (born March 1987) is a television and radio journalist and presenter. He is the host of TVNZ’s political show Q+A, and a presenter at Newstalk ZB''.
