Break Even (band)
Break Even was an Australian hardcore punk band from Perth, which formed in 2005. For most of the band's run, the band was composed of Perri Basile on bass guitar, Mark Bawden on lead vocals, Simon Dreja on drums and Steffen Sciuto on guitar. Their debut album, ''The Bright Side'', was released in June 2009 and was dedicated to the band's original guitarist Rowan Willoughby, who died in November 2008. The group split in July 2012 but reconvened in December 2014. The band has been inactive since 2016. Perth
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Melodic Hardcore
Melodic hardcore is a broadly defined subgenre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work. It generally incorporates fast rhythms, melodic and often distorted guitar riffs, and vocal styles tending towards shouting and screaming. Nevertheless, the genre has been very diverse, with different bands showcasing very different styles. Many pioneering melodic hardcore bands (such as Bad Religion and Descendents), have proven influential across the spectrum of punk rock, as well as rock music more generally. Resist Records is an independent record label and retail store based in Newtown, New South Wales, Australia. The store was opened by Toe To Toe vocalist, Scotty McFadyen in 1996 before expanding to a record label in 1998. Miles Away (band)
Miles Away is an Australian hardcore punk band from Perth, Western Australia, formed in 2002. History Miles Away was formed in mid-2002 by Cam Jose and Adam Crowe who had a bunch of songs they wanted to use for an old school hardcore band. They then drafted in Chris Unsworth, the drummer from Adam's first band Alleged and Perth stalwart/enigma Dion, formerly of Boredumb and From The Ruins to play the bass. Nick Horsnell joined up on vocals in late 2002 to complete the puzzle. At this time the band was going under the name Burning Bridges, until they found a US band with the same name. With each of the members big fans of the mid to late 1990s positive old school hardcore comeback (i.e. Floorpunch, Ten Yard Fight, In My Eyes, Reach The Sky, Fastbreak etc.) the aim was to create a band that kids could stage dive and finger point to, while also fusing in elements of new school hardcore. A split album (or split) is a music album that includes tracks by two or more separate artists. Basement are an English rock band formed in 2009 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. Their first studio album, ''I Wish I Could Stay Here'', was released in 2011. Turnover is an American rock band from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Formed in 2009, the band is signed with the Run for Cover Records label. Turnover has released five albums, two EPs and a handful of singles. History Turnover began in 2009, originally consisting of vocalist Austin Getz, backing vocalist/rhythm guitarist Kyle Kojan, lead guitarist Alex Dimaiuat, bassist Danny Dempsey and drummer Casey Getz.
