Brantford Station
Brantford railway station in Brantford, Ontario, Canada is a railway station serving Via Rail trains running between Toronto and Windsor. The station also serves the nearby towns of Paris and Simcoe. History The station was built by the Grand Trunk Railway, as designed by architects Spier and Rohns, in 1905. The station played a key role in Brantford's economic development. It brought markets, materials and labour into the city. Refurbishments for the Brantford railway station came in 2002 when Via Rail spent $350,000 ($ in today's money) to make general improvements to railway service. Ten passenger trains connect Brantford to the major economic hubs of Windsor, Sarnia, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa every day. Brantford (Canada 2021 Census, 2021 population: 104,688) is a city in Ontario, Canada, founded on the Grand River (Ontario), Grand River in Southwestern Ontario. It is surrounded by County of Brant, Brant County, but is politically separate with a municipal government of its own that is fully independent of the county's municipal government. Brantford is situated on the Haldimand Tract, traditional territory of the Neutral Nation, Neutral, Mississaugas, Mississauga, and Haudenosaunee peoples. The city is named after Joseph Brant, an important Mohawk leader, soldier, farmer and slave owner. Brethour House
Brethour is a township in the Canadian province of Ontario, located within the Timiskaming District. The township had a population of 97 in the 2016 Canadian Census. History Brethour Township was surveyed in 1887. It was then later officially incorporated on October 17, 1917. The township's title was derived from the name of a prominent business man from Brantford, Ontario: H.W. Brethour.
