Brad Voth
Brad Voth (born February 25, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Career Voth played junior hockey with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League from 1996 to 2001. In the 1998 NHL Entry Draft he was selected 157th overall in the 6th round by St. Louis Blues. He spent two season with the Blues organization, playing for their American Hockey League affiliate the Worcester IceCats and their ECHL affiliate the Peoria Rivermen. After being released by the Blues in 2003, Voth spent a further two seasons in the ECHL, spending the 2003-04 season with the Columbus Cottonmouths and the 2004-05 season with the Texas Wildcatters. In 2005, Voth moved to the United Kingdom and signed for the Cardiff Devils of the Elite Ice Hockey League. British Knockout Cup
The British Knockout Cup was an Elite Ice Hockey League competition originally created to fill the void left by the demise of the London Racers in the 2005–06 season. The first winners of the cup were the Sheffield Steelers who defeated the Coventry Blaze on penalty shots in the final. The format was a home/away affair in the first year of play. In the 2006–07 season, the format was altered with the final being a one-off game. Challenge Cup (UK Ice Hockey)
The Challenge Cup, hosted annually by the Elite Ice Hockey League, is a cup competition for ice hockey clubs in the United Kingdom. It is one of three competitions run each season by the Elite League, the others being the league championship and the playoff championship. Prior to the formation of the Elite League in 2003, the Challenge Cup was organised by the Ice Hockey Superleague. First awarded during the 1997–98 season, the Challenge Cup has had numerous different formats depending on the number of teams participating and the format of other competitions run during a particular season. The first six finals were single games played at a pre-determined venue, and during the first eleven seasons of the Elite League finals were contested over two legs. Worcester Ice Cats
The Worcester IceCats were a US ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They played in Worcester, Massachusetts, at the Worcester Centrum. In 2005 the team was renamed the Peoria Rivermen and moved to Peoria, Illinois. History The IceCats got their start when original New York Islanders owner Roy Boe purchased the Springfield Indians AHL franchise and moved it to Worcester in the summer of 1994.
