Boys Will Be Girls
The Honeytraps was the 'girl band' featured in the 2006 reality TV show ''Boys Will Be Girls'', aired on E4. The programme starting by auditioning male singers (who'd all been in bands before) for a brand new band, to be managed by Olivier Behzadi - ex - Head of A&R Sony Music Intl and Nathan Moore, ex-lead singer of Brother Beyond. It was only once the final four had been selected that the twist was revealed. They were being given the task of trying to pass themselves off as a girl band. One of the four (Marvin Humes of former group VS, now JLS) backed out at this point and was not replaced. At the end of the series, the band recorded a cover version of the A Flock of Seagulls' track, "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)", which was never released in the stores, but reached a respectable #23 on the UK Download Chart in May 2006. E4 (TV Channel)
E4 is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by Channel Four Television Corporation. ''The X Factor'' is a British television music competition to find new singing talent. The fifth series was broadcast on ITV from 16 August 2008 until 13 December 2008. Tribute Act
A tribute act, tribute band or tribute group is a music group, singer, or musician who specifically plays the music of a well-known music act. A boy band is loosely defined as a vocal group consisting of young male singers, usually in their teenage years or in their twenties at the time of formation. Radio Jackie is an Independent Local Radio station in Kingston upon Thames, England broadcasting news, popular hits, and local information to South-West London and North Surrey from its studios in Tolworth. A Flock of Seagulls are an English new wave band formed in Liverpool in 1979. The group, whose best-known line-up comprised Mike Score, Ali Score, Frank Maudsley and Paul Reynolds, hit the peak of their chart success in the early 1980s.
