Bowmansville, Missouri
Bowmansville was an unincorporated community in Johnson County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. Bowmansville was located on S Division off Missouri Route 13 approximately three miles south of Warrensburg. History The community was first settled by a German Baptist congregation in 1880, including a deacon named John Bowman. J. B. Bowman was a local merchant who insisted that his group of businesses be called "Bowmansville". In 1916, he attempted to get Bowmansville to appear on maps; at that time it consisted of a store, a blacksmith and wagon shop, and a single residence. Mr. Bowman ran the store, blacksmith shop, and a mill in 1927. A local 1929 report on area businesses listed Bowmansville as having a single merchant. Johnson County is a county located in western portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 52,595 with a 2018 estimate of 53,652. Its county seat is Warrensburg. Missouri Route 13
Route 13 is a highway in Missouri which runs almost the entire north–south length of the state. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 69/ 136 in Bethany. Its southern terminus is at the Arkansas state line in downtown Blue Eye, Missouri–Arkansas where it continues as Highway 21. It is one of the original state highways of Missouri. The road serves as an important corridor between Springfield and Kansas City, two of the three largest cities in the state. Heading north from Springfield, Route 13 intersects Route 7 at Clinton which in turn carries traffic to Interstate 49/U.S. Route 71 at Harrisonville. I-49/US 71 then continues on into downtown Kansas City. Warrensburg is a city in and the county seat of Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 20,313 at the 2020 census. The Warrensburg Micropolitan Statistical Area consists of Johnson County. The city is a college town as it is home to the University of Central Missouri. History Warrensburg was founded in 1835 by European-American settlers John and Martin D. Warren, who gave the town their last name. A post office called Warrensburg has been in operation since 1837.
