Bouchette
Bouchette is a municipality in the geographic centre of the La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada, north of Gatineau. Its territory is along the shores of Gatineau River and western Thirty-One Mile Lake. Agriculture is an important economic activity, along with outdoor tourism. It has less than 700 residents but approximately 1075 cottage owners. There is a variety of services in Bouchette: school, post office, municipal services, grocery and hardware stores, restaurants, accommodation, construction contractors, camping. Joseph Bouchette
Lt.-Colonel Joseph Bouchette (May 14, 1774 – April 8, 1841) was the Canadian Surveyor-General of British North America. His book, ''Topographical Description of the Province of Lower Canada'' was published at London in 1815 and also translated into French. It contained the sum knowledge of the territory at that time. The township of Bouchette, Quebec, was named for him. During the War of 1812 he raised and commanded the ''Quebec Volunteers''. In 1813, he was gazetted Lt. Colonel on the Staff of Governor-General Sir George Prévost. Background Born at Quebec City in 1774, he was the son of Colonel Jean-Baptiste Bouchette, a topographer, and Marie Angelique Duhamel, daughter of Captain Julien Duhamel (1723-1778), of Quebec City. Gatineau (provincial Electoral District)
Gatineau is a provincial electoral district in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada which elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes parts of the city of Gatineau as well as Val-des-Monts, Cantley and La Pêche. It was created from parts of Hull for the 1931 election. Malcolm Cameron (April 25, 1808 РJune 1, 1876) was a Canadian businessman and politician. Early life He was born at Trois-Rivi̬res in Lower Canada in 1808 and grew up in Lanark County in Upper Canada. At the age of 15, he found work in the Montreal area, but later returned to Perth to complete his schooling. Business career In 1828, Cameron became a merchant in the Perth area. Notre-Dame-de-Pontmain is a municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Antoine-Labelle Regional County Municipality. Gracefield is a city in La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau Regional County Municipality in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada. It was reorganized on 13 March 2002 when three former municipalities (Gracefield, Northfield, and Wright) were merged into one. Its name comes from Patrick Grace who opened there the first business and was mayor of Wright from 1885 to 1890. Gracefield is located along the Gatineau River and Picanoc River. The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017.
