Botaş Dörtyol LNG Storage Facility
Botaş Dörtyol LNG Storage Facility ( tr, Botaş Dörtyol Yüzer LNG Terminali) is a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Hatay Province, southern Turkey. It is country's second floating LNG storage facility after the Egegaz Aliağa LNG Storage Facility. The floating LNG storage facility is the world's largest vessel MT ''MOL FSRU Challenger'', which was chartered by the Turkish state-owned crude oil and natural gas pipelines and trading company BOTAŞ. The FSRU was delivered to its owner, the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) LNG Transport (Europe) Ltd. in October 2017, and then sailed to Turkey arriving at its Mediterranean seaport Dörtyol in November the same year. The FSRU terminal went into service on 7 February 2018. The special vessel has an LNG storage capacity of 2, and features a regas discharge capacity of . With the use of the FSRU as an import terminal, minimization of the investment costs for transmission and distribution li ...

Floating Storage And Regasification Unit
A floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit is a floating vessel used by the offshore oil and gas industry for the production and processing of hydrocarbons, and for the storage of oil. An FPSO vessel is designed to receive hydrocarbons produced by itself or from nearby platforms or subsea template, process them, and store oil until it can be offloaded onto a tanker or, less frequently, transported through a pipeline. FPSOs are preferred in frontier offshore regions as they are easy to install, and do not require a local pipeline infrastructure to export oil. FPSOs can be a conversion of an oil tanker (like the '' Seawise Giant'') or can be a vessel built specially for the application. A vessel used only to store oil (without processing it) is referred to as a floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel. The first of a related type, floating liquefied natural gas vessels, went into service in 2016. Types FPSOs are classified into the following types. * ...

Northern Marmara And Değirmenköy (Silivri) Depleted Gas Reservoir
Northern Marmara and Değirmenköy (Silivri) Depleted Gas Reservoir ( tr, Kuzey Marmara ve Değirmenköy Sahaları Yeraltı Doğalgaz Depolama Tesisleri) are underground natural gas storages inside depleted gas fields in Istanbul Province, northwestern Turkey. Combined, it is the country's first underground natural gas storage facility. One of the storage facilities is situated inside a depleted gas field undersea in northern Marmara Sea and the other is in neighboring Değirmenköy, a town in Silivri district of Istanbul Province. Both sites were suitable due to their proximity to Istanbul and to the gas pipeline of BOTAŞ. Northern Marmara Gas Field Northern Marmara Gas Field was discovered in 1988 in an area west of Silivri and far off the coast at a depth of . To determine the size of the natural gas reserve, which is the first undersea natural gas reserve in Turkey, three offshore boreholes in 1995 and two more were drilled in 1996. Natural gas production started in Septemb ...

Buildings And Structures In Hatay Province
A building, or edifice, is an enclosed structure with a roof and walls standing more or less permanently in one place, such as a house or factory (although there's also portable buildings). Buildings come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and functions, and have been adapted throughout history for a wide number of factors, from building materials available, to weather conditions, land prices, ground conditions, specific uses, prestige, and aesthetic reasons. To better understand the term ''building'' compare the list of nonbuilding structures. Buildings serve several societal needs – primarily as shelter from weather, security, living space, privacy, to store belongings, and to comfortably live and work. A building as a shelter represents a physical division of the human habitat (a place of comfort and safety) and the ''outside'' (a place that at times may be harsh and harmful). Ever since the first cave paintings, buildings have also become objects or canvasses of much artistic ...

Energy Infrastructure Completed In 2018
In physics, energy (from Ancient Greek: ἐνέργεια, ''enérgeia'', “activity”) is the quantitative property that is transferred to a body or to a physical system, recognizable in the performance of work and in the form of heat and light. Energy is a conserved quantity—the law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed. The unit of measurement for energy in the International System of Units (SI) is the joule (J). Common forms of energy include the kinetic energy of a moving object, the potential energy stored by an object (for instance due to its position in a field), the elastic energy stored in a solid object, chemical energy associated with chemical reactions, the radiant energy carried by electromagnetic radiation, and the internal energy contained within a thermodynamic system. All living organisms constantly take in and release energy. Due to mass–energy equivalence, any object that has mass when ...

Natural Gas In Turkey
Oil and gas each supply over a quarter of Turkey's energy. As Turkey produces little oil and gas the country's imports cost more than its exports, which is a problem for the economy. However a large gas field in the Black Sea is expected to start production in 2023. The country consumes 50 to 60 billion cubic metres of natural gas each year, almost half of which is imported from Russia. Gas storage capacity is being increased. Over 80% of the population have access to natural gas, and it supplies half of the country's heating requirements. Households buy the most gas, followed by industry and power stations. As the state owned oil and gas wholesaler BOTAŞ has 80% of the gas market, the government can and does subsidize residential and industrial gas customers. All industrial and commercial customers, and households using a lot of gas, can switch suppliers. As only 7% of oil is produced locally, Turkey is almost completely dependent on imports of oil and oil products, su ...

Natural Gas Storage
Natural gas is a commodity that can be stored for an indefinite period of time in natural gas storage facilities for later consumption. Usage Gas storage is principally used to meet load variations. Gas is injected into storage during periods of low demand and withdrawn from storage during periods of peak demand. It is also used for a variety of secondary purposes, including: *Balancing the flow in pipeline systems. This is performed by mainline transmission pipeline companies to maintain operational integrity of the pipelines, by ensuring that the pipeline pressures are kept within design parameters. *Maintaining contractual balance. Shippers use stored gas to maintain the volume they deliver to the pipeline system and the volume they withdraw. Without access to such storage facilities, any imbalance situation would result in a hefty penalty. *Leveling production over periods of fluctuating demand. Producers use storage to store any gas that is not immediately marketable, typic ...

Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Storage Facility
Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Storage Facility ( tr, Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Terminali) is an above-ground liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks facility in Tekirdağ Province, northwestern Turkey. The LNG storage facility is located in Marmara Ereğlisi, east of Tekirdağ and west of Istanbul. It is part of an LNG terminal operated by the state-owned natural gas distributor BOTAŞ, where LNG carriers at a discharge port pump the imported cargo ashore. LNG is stored in tanks and regasified to convey to the main pipeline system as needed. The project for the construction of the LNG storage facility launched in 1984. The facility went into service in August 1994. In 2007, six filling platforms were added for tank trucks A tank truck, gas truck, fuel truck, or tanker truck (American English) or tanker (British English) is a motor vehicle designed to carry liquids or gases on roads.
