Botaş Dörtyol LNG Storage Facility () is a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Hatay Province, southern Turkey. It is the country's second floating LNG storage facility after the Egegaz Aliağa LNG Storage Facility. The floating LNG storage facility is the world's largest LNG carrier, vessel MT MOL FSRU Challenger, MT ''MOL FSRU Challenger'', which was chartered by the Turkish state-owned crude oil and natural gas pipelines and trading company BOTAŞ. The FSRU was delivered to its owner, the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) LNG Transport (Europe) Ltd. in October 2017, and then sailed to Turkey, arriving at its Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean seaport Dörtyol in November the same year. Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Storage Facility
Marmara Ereğlisi LNG Storage Facility () is an above-ground liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanks facility in Tekirdağ Province, northwestern Turkey. The LNG storage facility is located in Marmara Ereğlisi, east of Tekirdağ and west of Istanbul. It is part of an LNG terminal operated by the state-owned natural gas distributor BOTAŞ, where LNG carriers at a discharge port pump the imported cargo ashore. LNG is stored in tanks and regasified to convey to the main pipeline system as needed. The project for the construction of the LNG storage facility was launched in 1984. The facility went into service in August 1994. In 2007, six filling platforms were added for tank trucks having capacity. Three filling platforms are able to fill up daily 75 tanker trucks. Dörtyol District
Dörtyol is a municipality and district of Hatay Province, Turkey. Its area is 342 km2, and its population is 128,941 (2022). It is a port city and oil terminus located 26 km north of the city of İskenderun, near the easternmost point of the Mediterranean at the head of the Gulf of İskenderun. Geography The name Dörtyol means "crossroads" (literally "four roads") in Turkish, and the town indeed sits on a crossing of highways, especially the O-53 from Anatolia south into Hatay and on to Syria.
