Boston Theater Marathon
The Boston Theater Marathon (BTM) is a Boston based charity theatre event consisting of 50 plays performed by 50 different theatre companies in 10 hours. Founders Kate Snodgrass (Artistic Director of Boston Playwrights' Theatre) and Bill Lattanzi began the BTM in an effort to match playwrights with producing theatre companies. Over 400 plays have been performed since 1999, with about 50 performed each spring. Boston Playwrights' Theatre
Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) is a small professional theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. Led by artistic director Megan Sandberg-Zakian, it is the home of the Graduate Playwriting Program at Boston University. As a venue, BPT rents its space to host other New England theatre companies who are producing new plays. The culture of Boston, Massachusetts, shares many roots with greater New England, including a dialect of the Eastern New England accent popularly known as Boston English.
