Bosisio Parini ( Brianzöö: ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about north of Milan and about southwest of Lecco, on the shores of the Lake of Pusiano. Bosisio Parini borders the following municipalities: Annone di Brianza, Cesana Brianza, Eupilio, Molteno, Rogeno. The town was the birthplace of the poet Giuseppe Parini, after whom it was later named. The lakefront is titled to the sports journalist Gianni Brera, died in 1992. Lake Of Pusiano
Lake Pusiano, also called Casletto or Eupili (Lagh de Pusian in Lombard, Lacus Pusianum in Latin), is a lake located between the provinces of Como and Lecco, in Brianza, Lombardy. In his honor Giuseppe Parini published his first book of poems (of arcane tone), under the pseudonym of Ripano Eupilino. The painter Giovanni Segantini painted Lake Pusiano in his famous painting Ave Maria a trasbordo, which is among the first that mark the evolution towards pointillism. Hydrography Lake Pusiano is the largest of the Lakes Briantei, has a maximum length of 2,700 meters, a width of 2,400 meters, a perimeter of about 11 kilometers, a minimum area (in lean times) of 5,250,000 square meters that reaches 6,720,000 square meters in times of flood. Gianni Brera
Giovanni Luigi "Gianni" Brera (8 September 1919 – 19 December 1992) was an Italian sports journalist and novelist. This is a description by himself: "My real name is Giovanni Luigi Brera. I was born on 8 September 1919 in San Zenone Po in the province of Pavia, and grew up like a wild man among woods, river banks and still waters. ..I am a Padan from the banks and flood plains, the bush and the sandbanks. I soon realized I was a legitimate son of the Po". Biography Brera was born in San Zenone al Po, near Pavia, the son of Carlo, a tailor, and Marietta Ghisoni. Among his ancestors was a Hungarian great-grandmother who married a Lombard sergeant of the Imperial Austrian Army. Giuseppe Parini
Giuseppe Parini (23 May 1729 – 15 August 1799) was an Italian enlightenment satirist and poet of the neoclassic period. Biography Parini (originally spelled Parino) was born in Bosisio (later renamed Bosisio Parini in his honour) in Brianza, Lombardy from a poor family. His father, who was a petty silk trader, sent him to Milan under the care of his great aunt: there he studied under the Barnabites in the Arcimboldi Academy, while earning a living by copying manuscripts. In 1741 his great aunt left him a monthly payment, on condition that he enter the priesthood. Parini was thus ordained, although his religious studies were not profitable because of his need to work in a lawyer's office during his free time and his intolerance of the old-fashioned teaching methods used. Lecco (, , ; lmo, label=Lecchese, Lècch ) is a city of 48,131 inhabitants in Lombardy, northern Italy, north of Milan.
