Borås Basket
Borås Basket is a professional basketball club based in the Swedish town of Borås. The club was founded in 1952 and currently compete in the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), the country's premier league. Borås has played in European competitions multiple times in its history; in 1995, 1996 and 2000 it played in the FIBA Korac Cup. In 2014 Borås returned to Europe when it entered the EuroChallenge. History In the 1999–2000 season, Borås was personally sponsored by National Basketball Association (NBA) player Magic Johnson and was named "Magic M7 Borås". Swedish Basketball League
Svenska Basketligan, or the Swedish Basketball League (SBL), is the premier league for professional basketball in Sweden. The league was originally established in 1992 as Basketligan and was known as that prior to the season of 2006–07, but when the Swedish company Obol Investment signed an agreement with the Swedish Basketball Federation in early October 2006, the league was renamed Obol Basketball League (OBL). In January 2007 the name was changed to Ligan, meaning simply the League. History On October 6, 2006, the Swedish Basketball Federation signed a 15-year agreement with Swiss company Obol Investment. Part of the deal was that ''Basketligan'' would be renamed ''Obol Basketball League''. Other parts of the deal include that the winning team would receive prize money if the team were to play in the EuroLeague during the following season. 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four. Starting from the Round of 16, quarter-finals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four. Teams The deadline to register in the competition was on July 30. The official list of teams was announced on August 3. Ryan Zamroz
Ryan Walter Zamroz (born February 20, 1987) is an American-Italian former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for The Master's College before playing professionally in Australia, England, Sweden, France and Spain. Early life and college career Zamroz was born in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. He attended Perkasie's Pennridge High as a freshman before transferring to Faith Christian Academy in nearby Sellersville. Between 2005 and 2009, Zamroz attended The Master's College and played for the Mustangs in the Golden State Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Michael Kingma
Michael Kingma (born 9 August 1979) is an Australian former professional basketball player. Professional career Kingma was born in Manly, New South Wales, where he started his basketball playing as a junior. Kingma played seven seasons in Australia's National Basketball League, including six seasons with the Sydney Kings. He was a member of the Kings' 2003 NBL championship team, averaging 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds that year. For the 2003–04 season, Kingma joined the Hunter Pirates, before leaving Australia. Jakob Sigurðarson
Jakob Örn Sigurðarson (born 4 April 1982) is an Icelandic basketball coach and former player. He was named the Icelandic men's basketball player of the year in 2011. Jakob won the Icelandic championship in 2000 and 2009, and the Swedish championship in 2011. College career He played his senior year of high school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and played basketball at Birmingham-Southern College, Alabama. Gregory Lawrence Graham (born November 26, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player who played five seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Elvar Már Friðriksson (born 11 November 1994) is an Icelandic professional basketball player for PAOK Thessaloniki of the Greek Basket League and the Basketball Champions League. Earvin "Magic" Johnson Jr. (born August 14, 1959) is an American former professional basketball player. He is often regarded as the greatest point guard of all-time and has been compared with Stephen Curry. Johnson played 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). 2019–20 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2019–20 FIBA Europe Cup was the fifth season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European professional basketball competition for clubs, that was launched by FIBA. On 12 March 2020, FIBA suspended all its competitions due to the coronavirus pandemic and terminated the FIBA Europe Cup. However, Pınar Karşıyaka requested to finish the competition with a Final Four format as in the 2019–20 Basketball Champions League. The 2018–19 Basketligan season was the 26th season of the Basketligan, the top tier basketball league on Sweden. Norrköping Dolphins were the defending champions. Teams Köping Stars and Wetterbygden Stars joined the league. Regular season League table Results Playoffs The playoffs are played with a best-of-five format (1-1-1-1-1).
