Born To Be Abramo
"Born to Be Abramo" is a disco medley/mashup by Italian comedy rock band Elio e le Storie Tese, originally released in 1990 as a 12" maxi-single. As its title implies, part of it is a parody of Patrick Hernandez's 1978 disco hit "Born to Be Alive", featuring the lyrics to "Esci dalla tua terra" (translatable as "Walk out of your land"), a 1973 Christian pop worship song by missionary Gigi Cocquio, about Abraham. The medley also includes fragments from an older (1969) worship song, priest/musician Domenico Machetta's "Resta con noi, Signore, la sera" (translatable as "Abide with us, O Lord, in the evening"), mixed with " Resta cu'mme" ("Stay with me" in Neapolitan), a 1957 hit by Domenico Modugno, as well as the chorus from Sylvester's 1978 song "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)", again sung with lyrics from "Esci dalla tua terra". Elio E Le Storie Tese
Elio e le Storie Tese (; literally "Elio and the Troubled Stories"), often abbreviated EelST, was an Italian comedy rock band from Milan, formed in 1980. Its leader was Stefano Belisari, better known as Elio. They announced their split on 17 October 2017, on Italian TV program ''Le Iene''. Elio e le Storie Tese acquired national fame after their second-place finish at the Sanremo Music Festival 1996 with the song " La terra dei cachi", a humorous take on Italian lifestyle. They also won the "Mia Martini" Critics Awards for their performance. Stefano Belisari (born 30 July 1961 in Milan), nicknamed Elio, is an Italian singer and musician. He is the founding members of the Italian rock band Elio e le Storie Tese. Career Elio founded Elio e le Storie Tese in 1980. He is the lead vocalist and occasionally plays the transverse flute (in which he is a graduate at the Milan Conservatory), the electric guitar and the electric bass. In 2002, Elio graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan with an MSc degree in electronic engineering. He had previously interrupted his studies following the success of his music career. The texts of his songs are humorous and irreverent, and he listed Frank Zappa as a primary influence.
