Bork (comics)
Bork is a fictional character, a superhero in the DC Comics universe. Created by Bob Haney and Neal Adams, the character first appeared in ''The Brave and the Bold'' #81 (December 1968) and was later re-introduced in '' JLA'' #61/2 (February 2002). Fictional character biography Early years Carl Andrew Bork was a criminal dock worker from Gotham City who went by the nickname ''King of the Docks''. After a shipboard theft in the South Pacific during which he saved a young native boy from drowning, he discovers Desolation Island. In thanks for Bork's rescue of the young boy, the Desolation Island natives give him a 'magic' statue which eventually transforms him, and makes him invulnerable to physical harm. The Flash found the statue on Desolation Island and tried to destroy it, but all his attempts failed until he was able to throw it into the sun. ''The Flash'' is an American superhero television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, airing on The CW. It is based on the Barry Allen incarnation of DC Comics character the Flash, a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to move at superhuman speeds. Traci Thirteen (also known as Girl 13 and Traci 13) is a superhero featured in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in ''Superman'' vol. 2 #189 (February 2003), and was created by writer Joe Kelly and artist Dwayne Turner. Superman began as one of several anthology features in the National Periodical Publications comic book ''Action Comics'' #1 in June 1938. The strip proved so popular that National launched Superman into his own self-titled comic book, the first for any superhero, premiering with the cover date Summer 1939. Between 1986 and 2006 it was retitled, ''The Adventures of Superman'', while a new series used the title ''Superman''. In May 2006, it was returned to its original title and numbering. The Justice Society of America (JSA, or Justice Society (JS)) is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The team was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox during the Golden Age of Comic Books. The JSA first appeared in ''All Star Comics'' #3 (Winter 1940–1941), making it the first team of superheroes in comic books.
