Boris Quercia
Boris Quercia Martinic (born 31 August 1967) is a Chilean actor, director, writer, and producer. In theater, he stood out for his performance as Roberto Parra Sandoval in the acclaimed work ' by . As a filmmaker, his first feature film ''Sex with Love'' received several national and international awards. As a television director, ''Los 80'' has become one of the most successful Chilean series since its premiere in 2008. And as a writer he has won the Grand Prix of Crime Fiction in France with his second novel, ''Perro muerto''. Biography The son of actor Benito Quercia, Boris studied acting at the University of Chile. He is one of the founders of the Teatro Provisorio company, which later became the , directed by Andrés Pérez, and where he starred in the famed play ''La negra Ester''. ''Coronation'' ( es, Coronación) is a 2000 Chilean drama film directed by Silvio Caiozzi. It was Chile's submission to the 73rd Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but it was not nominated. Plot The film tells the story of Andrés (Julio Jung), a man leading a boring and bourgeois life in a large mansion with his grandmother, Elisa de Ábalos (María Cánepa), an elderly woman who gradually loses touch with reality. The monotony of Andrés' life is disrupted when Estela (Adela Secall), a young and innocent villager, arrives at the mansion and immediately becomes the object of his attraction. This triggers an internal struggle within Andrés caused by his newfound feelings. Meanwhile, Estela falls in love with Mario (Paulo Meza), a humble welder from the neighborhood who happens to be the brother of a petty criminal. El Mostrador is a Chilean online newspaper, founded on 1 March 2000. Its current president is Germán Olmedo Acedvedo and its director is Federico Joannon Errázuriz. History ''El Mostrador'' was launched on 1 March 2000 and is Chile's first exclusively digital newspaper.
