Boris Orlov (coach)
Boris Georgievich Orlov (russian: Борис Георгиевич Орлов; 20 February 1945, Moscow – 3 July 2018, Nijmegen) was a Russian gymnastics coach. Orlov studied gymnastics in Moscow, and was trained as coach. During his military service he also worked as circus artist. During the 1980s he was coach of the national gymnastics team of the Soviet Union and he worked at the gymnastics department of Spartak Moscow. He coached, among others, Olga Bicherova who would become world champion. in 1986 he moved to the Netherlands as part of an exchange program with the Russian gymnastics federation and worked for a while in France. He was for four years head trainer for the Dutch gymnastics federation (KNGU) at National Sports Centre Papendal. After a conflict with KNGU, he moved in 1993 to Stuttgart, Germany. Nijmegen
Nijmegen (;; Spanish and it, Nimega. Renske Endel (born 13 July 1983, Noord-Scharwoude) is a Dutch former artistic gymnast Artistic gymnastics is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on different apparatuses. The sport is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), which designs the Code of Points and regulates .... She won the silver medal on uneven bars at the 2001 World Championships, which was the first World medal won by a Dutch gymnast since 1903. She was unable to compete at the 2004 Olympic Games due to injury and retired shortly afterwards. Endel currently works as a motivational speaker and acrobat at Corpus Acrobatics in Amsterdam. Yuri Van Gelder
Yuri van Gelder (born 20 April 1983) is a Dutch gymnast, whose best discipline is the rings. His nickname is "Lord of the Rings". Career Born in Waalwijk, Netherlands, Van Gelder took the gold in the men's rings at the 2005 European Championships held in Debrecen, Hungary. He became world champion in the same discipline at the 2005 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne, Australia. He won bronze at the 2006 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. At the 2007 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, he won a silver medal. Suspension On July 13, 2009, he revealed that he used cocaine three days before the Dutch championships in Rotterdam. Esther Heijnen
Esther is the eponymous heroine of the Book of Esther. In the Achaemenid Empire, the Persian king Ahasuerus seeks a new wife after his queen, Vashti, is deposed for disobeying him. Verona Van De Leur
Verona van de Leur (born 27 December 1985) is a retired Dutch artistic gymnast and adult film performer. She was named Dutch Sportswoman of the Year in 2002 after winning the all-around silver medal at that year's European championships and the silver medal on floor exercise at the world championships. Van de Leur retired from gymnastics in 2008, after which she suffered personal difficulties, including a conviction for blackmail and a prison sentence. Suzanne Helena Johanna Harmes (born 10 January 1986 in Zoetermeer) is a Dutch gymnast. In 2002, she won the silver medal at the European Championships in Patras as a part of the Dutch team alongside Verona van de Leur, Gabriella Wammes, Renske Endel and Monique Nuijten. A year later she became Dutch National Champion for the first time in her career. Harmes represented the Netherlands at the 2004 Summer Olympics. At the 2005 World Championships in Melbourne she won the bronze medal at the floor exercise, finishing behind Alicia Sacramone and Nastia Liukin.
