Boondall is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Boondall had a population of 9,217 people. It was formerly known as Cabbage Tree Creek (after the creek that flows through the area). Geography Situated approximately north of Brisbane near Moreton Bay, almost halfway between Brisbane and the coastal city of Redcliffe. Bounded on the north by Deagon, Sandgate and Shorncliffe, on the east by Nudgee and Nudgee Beach, on the south by Banyo, Geebung and Virginia and on the west by Taigum and Zillmere. The borders of Boondall are defined by loosely following the Cabbage Tree Creek (Tighgum) to the north and then following down Muller Road in the west. When Muller Road intersects with Zillmere Road, it forms a corner near Zillmere Water Holes in the south and follow the creek to its connection with Nundah Creek and use Nundah Creek as a border back up to the Cabbage Tree Creek estuary completing the border. Central railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It is the principal station on the City network and is located in the north of the Brisbane central business district. Central station is one of four inner city stations that form a core corridor through the centre of Brisbane. History The first building for Central railway station was a structure of wood and corrugated galvanised iron, and opened on 18 August 1889 as the terminus of the line when it was extended from Roma Street railway station. In 1891, the tunnel to Brunswick Street station (now Fortitude Valley) was opened so trains could run directly from Central to northern destinations. An elegant new station was constructed and opened in 1899 with arches of corrugated galvanised iron over the platforms and a portico on Ann Street. Shorncliffe Railway Line
The Shorncliffe railway line is an suburban railway line situated north of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. History The Sandgate Railway, opened in 1882, was the first truly suburban railway in Brisbane, built to provide convenient access to the seaside for the city's residents. The terminus was originally named Sandgate and was renamed Shorncliffe in 1938. The current Sandgate station was originally named Sandgate Central. The line allowed Brisbane residents to travel to Moreton Bay's shoreline at Shorncliffe. Duplication was completed by December 1901. Go Card
The ''go'' card is an electronic smartcard ticketing system developed by Cubic Corporation, which is currently used on the TransLink public transport network in South East Queensland. To use the ''go'' card, users hold the card less than 10 cm away from the reader to "touch on" before starting a journey, and must do the same to "touch off" the service at the end of the journey. The cost of each journey is deducted from the ''go'' card balance. The Queensland Government awarded the $134 million contract to design, build, operate and maintain the ''go'' card system to Cubic Corporation in July 2003. In July 2006, TransLink signed up around 1,000 volunteers to trial the new smartcard system in the Redcliffe area. The Brisbane Entertainment Centre is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in the Brisbane suburb of Boondall, Queensland, Australia. The centre is managed by ASM Global. The arena has an array of seating plans which facilitate the comfort of its users, subject to performance. Specific seating plans are usually allocated, depending on the performance and the size of its audience. The general seating arrangements are end stage mode, "in the round" and intimate mode, which only uses half of the arena. Shorncliffe railway station is the terminus station of the Shorncliffe line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Shorncliffe. History The railway line from Brisbane to Sandgate opened in 1882, and the terminal station, located near Curlew Street, was named Sandgate. The line was extended to Shorncliffe in 1897, and the name Sandgate was transferred to the new terminal station. In 1938 it was renamed Shorncliffe.
