Boom! were an English pop group which consisted of members Johnny Shentall, Rachael Carr, Shakti Edwards, Vicky Palmer, Nick Donaghy and Shaun Angel. Biography Their garage- pop debut single "Falling" was released in late 2000 and reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart in January 2001. ''Can't Stop the Pop'' described the song as "an incredibly clean-sounding track; it's slick and light on its feet, which is perfectly in-line with the sort of material being peddled by Artful Dodger, but perhaps a little throwaway by pop – and debut single – standards." Hear'Say were a British pop group. They were created through the ITV (TV network), ITV reality TV show ''Popstars (British TV series), Popstars'' in February 2001, the first UK series of the international ''Popstars'' Media franchise, franchise. The group, who were signed to Polydor Records, originally consisted of Danny Foster (musician), Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, and Noel Sullivan. Hear'Say achieved instant fame, breaking chart records with their debut single "Pure and Simple (song), Pure and Simple" and the album ''Popstars (Hear'Say album), Popstars''. Johnny Shentall
Johnny Shentall (born John George Shentall; 3 September 1978) is a British pop singer. He was first a member of the pop group Boom! before joining another pop group, Hear'Say in 2002. He is married to Steps band member Lisa Scott-Lee. Career Shentall first became a member of short-lived pop group Boom! in 2000. They scored one hit single with "Falling" in January 2001. In early 2002, Shentall then joined another pop group, Hear'Say, after winning the auditions as a replacement for Kym Marsh who had left the group. Hear'Say broke up later that year. Musicals Shentall has worked extensively in musical theatre, including performing in 2006 as Chuck Cranston in ''Footloose'' at the Novello Theatre in London's West End, as well as Hip Hopper and understudy Greaseball in ''Starlight Express''. UK Garage
UK garage, abbreviated as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England in the early to mid-1990s. The genre was most clearly inspired by garage house, but also incorporates elements from dance-pop, R&B, and jungle. It is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular " 2-step" rhythms. Artful Dodger are a UK garage duo, originally based in the city Southampton, which became famous for its 2-step garage, 2-step hits and inaugurated Craig David's professional musical career with his appearance on their 1999 number-two hit "Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta), Re-Rewind". They scored seven consecutive UK top-20 hit singles from 1999 to 2001. The band is named after Artful Dodger, a character in the Charles Dickens novel ''Oliver Twist'', because of the many bootlegs they made in the early days. Liberty X
Liberty X (originally called Liberty) are a British-Irish group originally consisting of Michelle Heaton, Tony Lundon, Kevin Simm, Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young. The group was formed by the five finalists of the 2001 ITV talent show ''Popstars'' who failed to make it into the winning group Hear'Say. In 2013 Liberty X's full members returned for the ITV2 documentary series ''The Big Reunion'' and toured until 2014. Since 2017, Heaton, Taylor and Young have performed as a girls trio. Westlife is an Irish pop vocal group formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1998. The group currently consists of members Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne.
