Bonymaen RFC
Bonymaen Rugby Football Club are a Welsh rugby union club based in the village of Bon-y-maen, Swansea, South Wales. Bonymaen RFC currently play in the WRU Championship and are a feeder club for the Ospreys. also including teams from under 6s to the under 16s, youth, Bonymaen 2nds, Bonymaen 1sts and Bonymaen Ladies. In May 2006 Bonymaen RFC were one of the 13 'Rebel' clubs who brought a vote of no confidence against the Welsh Rugby Union, which centered on financing and the handling of former coach Mike Ruddock's departure. The vote failed heavily with only 20 votes for the motion and over 300 against. In the 2006–07 season, Bonymaen RFC won the Division One West League, but were denied promotion to the Premier League as their grounds were deemed to not meet WRU criteria. Bon-y-maen, sometimes spelt ''Bonymaen'', ( cy, Bôn-y-maen) is a community in Swansea, Wales located about north east of Swansea city centre. It falls within the coterminous Bonymaen ward for elections to Swansea Council. Bôn-y-maen is Welsh for 'Base of the stone' and there are legends that the same stone ends in Penmaen ( en, Stone End) on the Gower Peninsula. Overlooking Bon-y-maen on top of Kilvey Hill is the main TV transmitter for Swansea. The local rugby team is Bonymaen RFC. Welsh Championship
The WRU National Championship (or Admiral Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the second tier of professional rugby union in Wales. The league was reformed by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) in 2012. The current National Championship champions are Pontypool RFC, who won consecutive titles in 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19. Mike Ruddock
Mike Ruddock, OBE (born 5 September 1959) is a Welsh rugby union coach who is currently an interim consultant for Ospreys, having previously coached Lansdowne FC . Ruddock was the Director of Rugby at the Worcester Warriors until his resignation on 28 April 2010. He was the coach of the Welsh national rugby union team from 2004 until February 2006 and Leinster Coach from 1997 to 2000. He is the father of 3 children. Richard Webster (rugby)
Richard Webster (born 9 July 1967) is a Welsh former dual-code international rugby union and rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s, and coached rugby union in the 2010s. In 1993 he toured New Zealand with the British & Irish Lions rugby union team and at the time played club rugby for Swansea RFC. In 1995 he switched to rugby league to play for Salford Reds, and appeared in the 1995 Rugby League World Cup. In 1996 he returned to union and signed for Bath Rugby.
